Since Celine loves to do covers, this one I think would fit her style perfectly...

Céline got “punk’d” in 1991 for the show « Surprise sur prise ». A crazy fan locked her in her trailer then went on stage to impersonate her 😂

Oh this was a nice surprise!! Love to see all the different looks over the years.

Also some new images for me from all the interviews. Crazy to know all the footage that is somewhere out there.

I know! I thought about that too. Hopefully more will be released in the coming years - especially if Celine continues to stay out of the spotlight.

Yes I remember an interview for Extra in 2013 and a fan taped the whole thing it was like 21 min when the segment aired it was 4 min. So much footage we never get to see.

Here is link to the fan recording

'I am, in life and death, the woman of only one man.'

Celine Dion My Story, My Dream

Posted (edited)

I wrote and judge many times about how they (Celine's team) decide to OVERwork her voice.

That, makes sometimes difficult for me to watch official live videos or recordings.

Here you can see an analysis and facts that should make Celine's team ashamed.

I was just coming here to post this. Agreed, it's terrible.

This is the real reason why fans have to do campaigns for and no for different releases.

Whats really the point of them releasing any of her concert or unreleased songs (for which some of the fans have been campaigning) if they make her voice sound like this?

Thanks for the video 🙌🏾

That explains perfectly what’s bothering me in her official records, live or studio. It’s just not natural, it takes the personality out of her voice.

That's awful. She sounds like a robot. Celine doesn't need a pitch correction.

Have you heard the bootlegs from Une Seul Fois though? She was pitchy and flat throughout

Yes, it's OK to correct some wrong notes here and there or they should not release the concert. This perfect pitching for the DVD is awful.

I don’t think the 2013 concert is too bad and most of the time, it sounds pretty neat and like they have just pitch corrected a few notes.

TC shows are bad though, they’ve not just corrected the notes, they’ve removed any sense of intonation and colour, I have no idea what went through their minds.

A New Day 2007 DVD is the same, Taking Chances Tour and Une Seule Fois too. Surprisingly Sur Les Plaines escaped most of that stuff. Maybe cause all of that french stuff is not as demanding vocally. And A New Day 2003 the technology was not there yet to do that so it sounds great.

The parts that guy highlighted weren’t even bad when compared to the second half lmao.

I mainly listen to the bootlegs for that reason lol. I’ll admit I’m probably one of her most critical fans, but I still prefer a raw performance. If they were so worried about making her sound good they should’ve done a little something to the final note, which is bad, and left the rest of the song alone.

Louder please so that it can reach to her sound teams. So unprofessional and embarrassing for Celine.

The thing is- they use pitch correction on every artists live shows, but I don’t know why team Celine goes over the top with it - the night(s) they recorded Taking Chances were good vocals, and even if they wanted to dub the pre-recorded stuff, why did they go so heavy?!

Were they? I think she sounded tired and very nasal.

I wish they recorded her early shows. Osaka was so so good vocally.

I find the A New Day Concert editing decent but the Disc 2/Behind the scenes of this concert showed the natural/real vocals which everything sounds perfect like HD stereo, clearer, can hear the effects clearer compared to the edited disc 1 concert which sounded mono on vocals with a bit of pitch correction but still better than TCWT dvd

In A New Day DVD, Try listening both songs from Disc 1 concert and Disc 2 Behind the scenes. There you’ll noticed huge difference in sound quality and natural vocals of Celine.

they actually made a few notes flat in that first disc of A New Day. Prerecorded tracks were autotuned to the point some didn’t sound good. In Because You Loved Me check out the “you saw the best there was in me” right after the sustain and the last “I’m everything I am, she was sharp in the second disc. RDMH is another one worth looking into. For Taking Chances DVD the entire performance of Show Must Go On is worth comparing to the actual bootleg, particularly the “my makeup might be flaking but my smile still stays on” in the first chorus is an autotuned disaster

I'm surprised that some are only discovering / hearing this. I remember watching A New Day DVD and being horrified how robotic I Surrender sounded. I'd take any vocal flaws over that tuned mess. We like Celine for the rawness of her voice, if we wanted robotic-tuned stuff we'd listen to Cher.

I remember watching the behind the scenes of A New Day, when the time she was singing her first words of A New Day Has Come, I was like.. how come it sounded better than in the disc 1/concert? It sounded so smooth, so clear, like her voice is surround. Even the pre recorded vocals sounded so smooth. I don’t know why they needed to do that flat sound on disc 1 for the vocals. Even the instrumentals. Something wrong with the ears of her teams. I guess when they were showing it to Celine, she was hearing the unedited vocals (bts version).

But again, I find the tuned vocals of A New Day better compared to Taking Chances Tour DVD. TCWT robotic flat sound is so embarrassing to turn the volume up.

In CTTEOTW, In some scenes, it sounded good like “ A Song For You”, it reminds me of the natural sounds of the BTS Of A New Day. Why they just don’t use that natural surround like sounds? Why they always use mono tuned vocals when they release it?
