Never seen that before either! I bet celine would be a great actress, she puts so much emotion into her music videos (or at last she used to in the nineties.. ) And to tell you the truth, the most emotional performances were in that era as well.. After A new day has come, she's been a bit too commercial, at least in her English albums :(

In live performances the feeling is still there so I hope and pray that Sans attendre will bring the emotion back

Ever seen THIS?!!! Gala De L'Adisq 1996 (Hommage To Rene Angelil).

Celine couldn't be there (according to the dress she wears, she was in Paris at that moment, Recording of the New Year's Eve show "Faites la fete"/France 2) but said something really touching (as far I can understand, maybe someone's here can translate. It starts at 5:43).

Some funny footage of Rene!

I LOVE this tribute so much. I only got a little of what Celine was saying, but I think part of it was "To me, the most beautiful place in the world is to be by your side . .because in my heart, you are my husband, in my career, you are my manager, and in my life, you are my ??? [didn't get the word!]" She says she loves and adores him. And then I think she says something like she will sing "a little song that has taken them very far." And she sings part of Ce N'etait qu'un reve, and after the song, she says "Thank you. I love you for all my life, my love."

I got a bit more of Rene's speech (thankfully, he speaks slowly) -- I'd love it if someone would correct/fill in any blanks. Thanks!

"Thank you very much. First, I want to thank the good Lord, and [??], Celine, my wife, who I adore, who has made me live my most crazy dreams. And tonight I want to thank my family - thank you to my mother, who has always been proud of her son -- of her two sons. I want to thank above all my children -- Anne-Marie, who is here, Jean-Pierre, Patrick -- who love me even though ?? [i was often not there?] . .And I also want to pay homage to [???? the people who made it possible for me to be here tonight?? ] . .with whom I work [??] who have helped me. I'm thinking of Pierre LaBelle, Jean Beaulne, Pierre who has [?????], Guy Cloutier, with whom I worked [?? something about being here tonight], Eddy Marnay, Suzanne Mia Dumont, Luc Plamondon, Jean-Jacques Goldman, our whole [??] team, Yves [??], the Sony Music team, the big family, who have feted Celine today [??], Rich Camilleri, who is here, Vito Luprano, Francine Chaloult." He then says something about it being difficult to be up there and think of everyone and not forget anyone -- but he doesn't want to forget the touring team; "my friends ,who have always [supported me?] -- my cousin, Paul Sara, who is here tonight, Marc Verreault, Jacques DesMarais, Andre Delambre, Sylvie Beauregard, who works with me" He then says something about having been privileged in his life -- "I've had many friends; people who helped me [and above all, loved me??] . .I'm sure I'm forgetting someone [??], but before finishing, I want to say thank you to you, the Quebecois public, because we've won trophies around the world, and it's been a pleasure - a great pleasure -- but when one is appreciated at home, [something about it being the greatest pleasure??] Thank you."

In Celine's biography, it says Rene was later very upset that he'd forgotten to thank the Dion family.

I've just heard this song:

.

It's by an Australian artist named Delta Goodrem who is very similar to Celine in terms of her music- and she's had eight Australian number one singles, including six number ones in a row!

This Canadian accent is sometimes really hard to understand! I wish I could ... there were soooooo many interesting interviews, and all of them sound mainly like "Suaheli" to me.

Just uploaded this one: If I Could (Jerry Lewis Telethon 2003) Filmed live from A New Day... in Las Vegas. The video wasn't on YouTube before, so I decided to share it with the world. Unfortunately, no higher quality version exists :( but still, better than nothing.

You're very welcome! For me, the problem is less the Canadian accent than that I'm trying to figure it out based on a few years of high school French!

Without a doubt, my favorite Celine French release. Not to mention she was so beautiful in that year :)

Not sure if anybody posted this one. Her recording Alone in the studio. I must admit it is very entertaining to watch her behind the scenes! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sr51XHm5rCA

This is a fabulous FULL performance of IACBTM -- not just the full radio version, but the full ALBUM version, including the beginning of the 2nd verse ("There were those empty threats and hollow lies/And whenever you try to hurt me I just hurt you even worse and so much deeper") . .I can't think of any other performance where she does a version this long -- LOVE it!!

She sang it in various concerts throughout the Falling Into You tour, but it appears they began using a shortened arrangement sometime before the Memphis taping.
