infiniti Posted November 25, 2014 at 07:07 AM Posted November 25, 2014 at 07:07 AM (edited) Disco with dance/club music...although not sure if Celine at this point can re-invent herself so drastically. I feel like this is not quite Celine. This fits Madonna for example, but Celine has this image that she herself probably is so comfortable that disco/club music might just not be viable option, Not that Celine cannot do it! I personally would like her to do garage/ deep house / future garage electronic album...this would be a lot of work but fresh like the peach from the state of Georgia! Meanwhile, we got this lovely video! Edited November 25, 2014 at 07:09 AM by infiniti 3 Quote Celine ~
donpi86 Posted November 25, 2014 at 09:51 AM Posted November 25, 2014 at 09:51 AM I don't see Celine in any kind of disco album.... She is not there and she wouldn't know how to do it properly... simply she doesn't have "the flow". She would be goofy as she has been her whole career in terms of uptempo or Disco or "rap". I just simply can't take off my mind that MTV interview... so horrible... Celine is naturally the elegance classy Diva, and I think she really likes to feel like it... So I simply don't see a reason to try to be fresh and modern pop disco whatever... Quote
Neddo Posted November 25, 2014 at 09:56 PM Posted November 25, 2014 at 09:56 PM Celine should make more poetic and more orchestral uptempo songs about life and inspiration. With epic big melodies and high end 5th octave notes. Not disco or rap. And it should be full of tempo and key changes. Songs like SJNRDT and LMBT could also fit. 4 Quote http://imageshack.us/a/img138/7804/5tq2.png
LukeD Posted November 25, 2014 at 10:20 PM Posted November 25, 2014 at 10:20 PM I think it is a bad idea. Celine should stick to ballads because this is what she does best. If she wants to experiment she'd rather try a jazz album. Fits her style and age better. 1 Quote
Davey84 Posted November 25, 2014 at 10:40 PM Posted November 25, 2014 at 10:40 PM (edited) I actually hate jazz... even if Celine does it I'm sure A disco album will get all the gays dancing Also Gloria Estefan was 41 with Gloria! and Madonna was 47 with Confessions on the Dance floor. Celine is not 60 plus yet so IMO she should stay far away from Jazz and the American Songbook till then Edited November 25, 2014 at 10:48 PM by Davey84 Quote http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v75/daveyh84/incognito198701_zpsaaootxh1.jpgRick, ik hou van jou voor altijd!A New Day... has come 28/29 April & 2/3 May 07Antwerpen 13 et 14 mai,Paris 24 et 25 mai, Amsterdam 2 juinet Arras 7 juillet Chances Taken!!!How Do You Keep The Music Playing? - Celine Opening Night March 15th, March 16th

Here, we are talking about Celine stepping out of hers and doing a full dance album. Plus, Madonna can dance her #ss off on stage. Celine would never support on stage a full length disco/dance album. At least she hasn't shown such passion so far. Not only as a performer but also as a recording artist since up-tempo songs have always been there to balance her ballad-heavy albums. Not to mention that several live renditions of her up-tempo songs have been quite below the studio recordings (TTWII, IA, IDAN, FA, SOL, LCMM). Edited November 26, 2014 at 12:19 AM by LukeD Quote
dj4celine Posted November 26, 2014 at 02:09 AM Posted November 26, 2014 at 02:09 AM I disagree with you on this one, Davey. Like Luke said, I think it will be a very bad idea as well. Taking Chances and Loved Me Back To Life are the most what she should do for experimenting. TBH I don't see her getting another hit album in the US ever again. That ship has sailed. So maybe for that reason she could give this a try cos I'm not sure if anyone would even notice her there. Worldwide, it is another story though. 1 Quote
CelinesDIVO5 Posted November 26, 2014 at 06:44 AM Posted November 26, 2014 at 06:44 AM Cher stepped out of her comfort zone with "Believe" at 52, and not for nothing, but she's no dancer either. Cher was always pop leaning toward rock. Then out of nowhere at 52 years old comes out with a number 1 dance album and wins her first Grammy. 6 Quote https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PL54qnRGM2gMatthew Charles - "Fix You" - Live at The Stonewall InnStonewall Sensation - Season 15Originally written and performed by Coldplay
BartFCS Posted November 26, 2014 at 10:27 AM Posted November 26, 2014 at 10:27 AM That would be fantastic if she worked with some producers to get her out of comfort zone for a change. I mean something original like Madonna did with Confessions On A Dance Floor inviting back then not very known producers and creating something fresh. That kind of modern disco could rock! Perfect selection for upcoming tours between her classics...I don't want Celine to be safe like she is most of the time with her next album. I don't want any collaboration with Guetta, Avicii etc. Nothing that is instantly recognisable. To me that's also a safe road. The World is filled with great producers waiting for their breakthrough. Obviously that's not gonna happen with Celine. She'll be always sony's cash cow. Too bad coz we all know she can sing anything and sound great having the best time ever! One can dream.... 2 Quote

Neddo Posted November 26, 2014 at 06:19 PM Posted November 26, 2014 at 06:19 PM (edited) I think we really need an opposite of ANDHC.... Actually, more modern ANDHC (no cheesy songs like Rain, Tax or Super Love, less catchy, less covers) Yes, dark disco is possible. But it would be hard to find songs like those. However she should really make that jazz album (even if it's all covers) because it's just her biggest wish Edited November 26, 2014 at 06:21 PM by Neddo 1 Quote http://imageshack.us/a/img138/7804/5tq2.png

Timster Posted November 26, 2014 at 07:16 PM Posted November 26, 2014 at 07:16 PM Even Miracle part 2? I like Miracle. All the songs are linked, well-produced, as a project it has coherence and continuity. The theme might not be to everyone's taste, but as an album it is very complete. Celine Dion and 1 fille & 4 types are her other most-coherent albums, there is a sound that stays there from the very first song right to the end of the album. 2 Quote

I find the promo of recent years (or lack of it) very similar for each album.... Very easy.... I hope he can help her with this! Kev x 3 Quote
Peppercorn1991 Posted November 26, 2014 at 08:17 PM Posted November 26, 2014 at 08:17 PM (edited) Comments about LMBTL not suiting her ...... I think it did! The UK loved it... People took notice of her again here.... The problem in the US was the performances..... Because let's be honest.... They were terrible at times. I think the fact celine was promoting her album at a time when she found out Rene had cancer was a big problem... And the fact it was a secret for so long too....Celine wasn't enjoying herself..... The pre promo showed celine enjoying the album and then when the promo really started she seemed sad and distant.... This must have been when the bad news hit. I understand why celine found it so hard to sing that song now.....realising that she was living the song in her personal life... I love the song but for me it now has so much more meaning in her long career..... if Rene had been well during the promo I think we would see different results..... We can't just say that style doesn't suit her.... Because I think it does.... The UK took notice and loved it... The US on the other hand needed more promo and I believe celine would have given the album more attention over there if things had been different. I think that's part of why Incredible didn't take off, despite Ne-Yo's willingness to promote it -- b/c Celine retreated from the spotlight just as it was being released. But most of the LMBTL promotion in the US happened in September and then again in November/mid-December. They didn't find out about Rene's cancer until just before Christmas, and then she basically stopped doing everything except the Vegas show (and the Incredible video shoot). It's hard to tell why things take off in one country and not another . . . interesting, though. Quote
CelinesDIVO5 Posted November 27, 2014 at 01:12 AM Posted November 27, 2014 at 01:12 AM I'm still mad that with the video not being released until Spring of 2014, that Ne-yo didn't include "Incredible" on his Summer album and use it as a lead single. It would have been perfect and an awesome Segway for when ABC decided to use it for their fall line up promo. 1 Quote https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PL54qnRGM2gMatthew Charles - "Fix You" - Live at The Stonewall InnStonewall Sensation - Season 15Originally written and performed by Coldplay
