Celine nominated for 2 Gala de L'Adisq Awards

I was hoping Celine would win, but oh well, She has over 1,000 awards already. Can't win them all. Celine literally has won over 1,000 awards though, I'm not kidding. I think when she was somewhere in Europe in 2007 or 2008 promoting Taking Chances, Some t.v. show did a video of Celine's career accomplishments. It said, in the video that Celine has received over 1,000 awards. They had an exact number of awards won, but I can't remember the number.

 

If you think about it though, Wow. Over 1,000 awards is unimaginable to me. That is a huge accomplishment in itself. Celine is know loser here that's for sure. Celine has enough awards to her name that, If she wins she wins. If she doesn't win, well she already has over 1,000 awards so I don't think it will hurt to let other artists have a chance at success to.

 

I know we all still want Celine to succeed and win awards and she will, Just not all the time. I'm sure Celine doesn't mind giving other artists a chance at the same success she enjoyed and still enjoys. I like to see other artist win to. It all evens out. Celine will win more awards to come I'm sure.

I hope that happens. I hate to think that this is the end of that when it already feels like the end of so much already. I agree that if another artist is better/deserving, let them have it. She would probably be okay with it. For me though, I just want that for her because it would kinda say that she is still sorta kinda relevant/popular, that she's still going, loved and seen as a force out there. I don't know if I am making any sense or just rambling here!

If this makes you feel better, I don't think an artists popularity should be measured by if they are, or aren't winning awards consistently. Celine is a legend and has reached legendary status, therefor she will always be popular. Celine will always be known as this huge name with a huge voice that stands the test of time.

 

As long as there are Celine Dion fans out there, and there will always be Celine Dion fans out there, she will remain popular. The only way Celine could ever screw things up for herself would be, if she were to ever do something horrible or totally destroy the image people have of her. Since her biggest issue would be lip syncing, I don't think she will have a problem.

 

Once you are a legend you don't go back. Thankfully that is how the rules work in the music industry. Like Michael Jackson and many other legends of music, Celine's mark will always be left and never forgotten, even long after she's gone.

Well, I'm not disappointed or something but I wanted this a bit for her to win best english album because I really think LMBTL is a fantastic album, I love it more every day.

It is. I don't know Arcade Fire's music either, I just know I have a friend who is never gonna let me live it down that her band beat my singer. I didn't even know they were from Canada. LOL Whatever. What the poster said about popularity not being based on awards, did actually help. I really thank you for that perspective on her status. That sounded so FB-ish but oh well!
