I love it too. I went to Quebec for the first time when this album was released and I associate it with hearing 'One Heart' on the radio in Montreal.

Thank you for starting this topic Tom!

I can't say I have a favourite Celine album, but One Heart is definitely one that I never get tired of listening to. For me, it has the same fresh sound as ANDHC, but with a far more relaxed feel. One Heart was really the first album in Celine's English career to have 'young and modern' as the concept. Not only do we get modern pop songs (Reveal and Naked being the highlights for me), we also get subdued ballads (like SBYS, IHT, FMN) which have a raw, stripped-back feel in contrast to the soaring power ballads with heavy production we've been used to on previous albums (IKWLI is really the only 'classic' Celine ballad on the album). Overall, the album is coherent in terms of vocals, style and production (which is always important for me, I like albums that flow well), and it features some amazing songs which unfortunately have never been performed live.

I think a lot of these songs would work well acoustically, I would love to see that happen one day. I think OH would sound better without the big pop production.

Yeah right!

For me One Heart is one of the worst albums from Celine because it takes the worst side of ANDHC, that direction to be "young and modern" when there is no young or modern songs in it.... All this obsession with POP contemporaries when she totally broke with the cool wave when she stopped in 1999.... A few years and everything changed. OH it is a try to be a modern artist but is totally out. LIAWN or OH could have been songs from BackStreet Boys or N'sync in the beggining of their career... not for a 2003 record for a classy lady as Celine Dion.. The Titanic Diva....

I would love too to see a more acoustic feeling in an english album as a french one with less typical and cheap Pop sound effects...

Every time I listen to this album, I think of summer, the beach, sunglasses, friends... It's such a breath of fresh air to me.

If I may, I'd like to post my own review of the record, track by track:

I Drove All Night: I think Celine did an amazing job. Among all the versions of this song that have been recorded over the years, I'd definitely pick Celine's one as the top cover. Modern, and uptempo song that, I think, was the perfect choice for a lead single.

Love Is All We Need: To be totally honest, I hated this song at first, it didn't sound true or serious to me at all... Maybe a left-over of Britney Spears' latest album. But, as time went by, I started to realize certain details about the instrumental that started to get me... Also, Celine's voice rocks in this song.

It's also a rare privilege to listen to her experimenting and exploring new sounds; this is what 'Taking Chances' is all about in my opinion, and not what we got in 2007.

Faith: Like Timster said before, certain songs from this album would work really good on a more acoustic perspective. I think Faith is one of those songs. Very positive lyrics and catchy melody.

In His Touch: A classic Celine ballad that still keeps the essence of the album. The song's message is very similar to the one from Think Twice, talking about a relationship in a dangerous situation, maybe close to its end, with In His Touch being more romantic, sophisticated and less rock than Think Twice.

Definitely, one of my favorite songs from this album. A very emotional ballad, even though Celine's voice sounds a bit nasal at times...

One Heart: Why does this song give a name to the album? 'Love Is All We Need' or even 'Reveal' would have been much better titles to this record as they represent the whole concept of it much better than 'One Heart'. I don't like the song and I don't like the video. In fact, I always skip this track when listening to the album.

Stand By Your Side: It's an interesting and different ballad to me. Definitely not a standard Celine Dion ballad. I love the sweet sound of her voice on this track, and also the acoustic approach to it. This song tells a similar story to I'm Your Angel: I'll always be with you, no matter what happens.

Naked: Another surprise on this album. I like how her voice goes from low to a higher tone as the song reaches its big moment, and then goes back to a lower register to finish the song. And wow, that big note, according to Celine herself, it's the highest note she ever reached, (I think she mentioned this on 'For Keeps').

Sorry For Love [2003 Version]: I like it, but not as much as the one from ANDHC. Apparently this was the original version of the song. All I can say is what a great job they did on mixing it for the 2002 release. This 2003 version is way too boring to me... Definitely an album filler, they could have released it as a B-side to any of the singles from 'A New Day Has Come' or 'One Heart', instead of having it taking the place that a new song could have taken on the track list of 'One Heart'.

Have You Ever Been In Love: At least they added a new version of Sorry For Love, but what's the point of adding to the album a song that had been released on the previous studio album the year before?!? If the reason was to release it as a single, they could have done it perfectly without having to include it in 'One Heart'. No comments about the video. I like the song a lot though.

Reveal: Again we find a song with 'One Heart's signature sound. It's very cool to listen to Celine singing about such an intimate situation as in this song. Very upbeat, I think it could have worked really good on the charts!

Coulda Woulda Shoulda: Weird song but I like it.

Forget Me Not: A very experimental and dark song. It Certain parts remind me a bit of Refuse To Dance, probably because of the backing vocals and the soft and relaxed melody. It's a nice song, but not much commercial potential. I see why they didn't launch it as a single.

I Know What Love Is: My favorite song on this album and one of my ultimate favorite songs from her discography. A piano power ballad that would have worked really well in 2003/2004 as a single, joined by a decent video. This is the kind of song that Celine would kill onstage. Something as spectacular as I Surrender, but much more simple, not as vocally demanding but much more emotional and moving.

Je T'aime Encore: What an interesting way to let English-speaking fans to discover her French career. I like the idea but I'm not a big fan of this version of the song.

look at this album would you? would you just look at it...i have completely stumbled upon its glory in the form of love is all we need.....

what a frikkin amazing song...

when this album first came out - i loved it straight away i remember the whole 1st day i had it and listened to it on repeat whilst doing my course work for college...and at the time i remember not having high expectations of it because the whole integrity of it had been somewhat marred by the garish and shameless attachment to chrysler. It was pretty much a multi platform advertising campaign. So in my mind...it cheapened the whole thing for me (as well as the hideous f1 style type face) even though i loved the songs....that was the over riding feeling i had of the album.

and aside from the again shameless fillers ('sorry for love', 'have you ever been in love again?', looking back on it now in 2014, over 10 years later....its actually one of my favourite albums of hers and one of the most up beat and fresh.

•I drove all night at the time i was absolutely addicted to....now not so much but its still a techno gallop through a song.

• Love is all we need is just,,,,,grrrrr....i bask in its funk.

• Faith is just so fresh sounding still i just wanna include it in a green leaf salad.

• In his touch might be one of celine's best ballads, genuinely understated and beautiful.

• One heart is like the tacky cousin at your wedding that you have to let do a cheesy reading, then later witness them knowing all the dance moves to 'saturday night' by whigfield. You tolerate it but you'd rather it hadn't happened.

•Stand by your side is lovely isnt it - gat soul..

•even Naked is kinda good isnt it...

•Sorry for love - to me - sorry for love is the photos on Facebook you untag yourself from, hide from your timeline and even report in a bid to ensure they 'never happened' in the 1st place.

• Have you ever been in love does fit in with this album but its lazy.

•Reveal is just.....what a gem this song is - contender for best song on the album - so atmospheric and dark.

•Coulda woulda shoulda...shoulda stayed as that bonus track on ANDHC.

•Forget me not is interesting for celine and a welcome addition.

• I know what love is is kinda sickly but there is always at least one on a celine album right.

•Je t'aime encore - refreshing that this came 1st in english then french. always a favourite.

look at that -

give it a listen - i think its kinda under rated. Only a year after A new day has come...but in my opinion much better album.

I agree, I adore that album too. It's better than ANDHC.

OH has great dance/uptempo songs (I drove all night, Reveal, Naked), great ballads (In his touch, Stand by your side, I know what love is) and

the production is not sterile like on ANDHC.

The IFPI revealed that One Heart was the 10th best selling album around the world in 2003.

I love this album too!!! It flows nicely, and it's light hearted and fresh, and just fun to listen to. I think all the tracks fit...although, I wasn't thrilled about the recycling of HYEBIL, but understand why they did it. I really do like the ballad version of SFL, but wish they would have just labeled it as that...a ballad version. It's actually the 2001 version if you really think about when she recorded it lol. CWS I think fits well with the overall track list. I really just love the album. It just goes to show that not all music has to be so serious and deep to be good.

I love this album. I was told I was the first person at my WalMart to buy it on the day it came out. Not sure if that's good or not... CWS makes me wanna get up and dance. I love I know what Love is. Reveal is amazing. I love love love the song One Heart. I love it as it is, but acoustic would also work. Faith is amazing, in his touch and stand by your side are awesome. I love how they ended it with Je T'aime Encore, as has been said, great way to introduce English fans to her French work. Love is all we Need...took a little time to work it through, LOL, (did anyone get that?) but I came to love it. Great album. Edited by sfbaysinger

LIAWN speaks not only about lack of love it actually describes an everyday situations where you're on your own and people don't care because it's not their problem. No wonder why she wanted to sing this song. It unlike her songs in it's hiphop/r&b genre and it's realistic lyrics. It's not some godlike love appreciation. It shows the things how they truly are just like her french music. Yes it sounds like Britney so what.
