Holy crap! Thank you so much! What a great surprise! I was there on opening night, I can't believe it's been three years. Surprisingly, the show has seen very few changes, but honestly, it's still great to listen to. Her voice and technique is awesome at present! I love the way she's making subtle changes in most of the songs. It's definitely noticeable. The high note at the end of Paganini was fantastic and LCMM really was pretty good for the most part! RDMH had some noticeable changes too leading up to the high note at the end and I loved it. The ending to ABM was awesome too, really strong. The show flows really well I think. She needs to change at least 5 songs, but other than that, I love it. I watched the A New Day and Taking Chances DVD recently and her voice is much better now than it was during those times, I'm really happy it's getting better and not worse over the years.

yeah i would looooove for celine to include some songs from the lmbtl album as well... :) in fact didnt celine say on one of her interviews last fall that she loved the songs from the lmbtl so much that she couldnt wait to start singing some of them in her vegas show???? & also didnt rene say in an interview that the songs "loved me back to life", "incredible", "somebody loves somebody", & "water & a flame" would be added to the show???? as of now, it seems that only incredible is still in the show, for now @ least lol, & they removed lmbtl which really sucked since we all heard celine say in interviews many times how much she loves that song... in fact i wonder why now they removed lmbtl to begin w/???? does anybody on here know why???? was there any explaination as to why that song was removed???? but i really hope that she will add a few songs from lmbtl when she goes back to vegas this summer... i think that alot of the songs from this album, such as "loved me back to life", "incredible", "somebody loves somebody", & "water & a flame", really fit into this so perfectly & would freshen up the show that it seriously needs so much these days...

As far as I know, the song was not well received. Vegas audiences can be very hit and miss and they just want to hear the classic stuff. Saw Veronic last night, which was incredible by the way, but you could tell the audience got impatient toward the end. They can only sit through so much before they are ready to move on to something else. I think the same goes for timing for Celine. They do not want to replace the setlist now with new songs that the average audience does not want to sit through and will not add songs either to make it longer. It is a shame but its Vegas: everything moves crazy fast.

First of all, although I agree she should replace some 5 songs, I have to point out she's def using a new technique.

 

This new technique makes her sound less strained, less nasal, maybe a bit less powerful (and she doesn't hold the notes as long as before) but her voice is definitely clearer and nuanced, and more reliable as an instrument for her. (F.E. her runs are really quicker than years ago)

 

 

My Review:

 

RDMH was almost like a new song... loving those changes!!

 

Mr. Paganini ... her vibrato is getting better and better. she's mastering the style! the changes from chest to head voice are less noticeable as time goes by! The Scatwoman! she reminded me of Bette Medley in some segments!Everytime I listen to her perfomances of this song I get drawned back to her FYI tour when I fell in love with her virtuosism!

 

BATB Probably the best version since 2002!

 

ABM I'm loving that she's establishing this new ending, which is a lot harder than the one she used in the 90s!

 

BYLM Not as good as the one from the 2013 Xmas special, but I used to skip this song and she's finally renewed the spirit of this great tune! Nice head note for a change.

 

INCREDIBLE she've sped up this one a bit! (which sounds great)... lots of pitch problems from both though. I'm loving some runs that aren't included in the studio version. Her high notes are AMAZING and spot on! (although they're not as powerful as she used to thing them the very first times)

 

LCMM great control!!! she always manages to give an extra something to this song! I think she still enjoys it!

 

 

 

To sum up

She's singing a lot better than 2003-2007 and quite better than 2008-2009. She was on fire that night!

That's no small feat for someone who's not getting any younger!
