mike_z Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 When people think of Céline's french career, they often credit first of all Jean-Jacques Goldman, then maybe Luc Plamondon and finally Eddy Marnay for her early years. But there's a man who's been hiding in the shadows and who's also been the only songwriter present in Céline's last 4 french albums (yeah, including the original songs on "On Ne Change Pas"). He's responsible for most of Céline's most memorable french songs post-2000. Still, he's not often credited or mentioned by Céline, or himself he rarely speaks about her or appear publicly next to her. Born in Algeria in 1959, he's responsible, among others, of these songs (most of which are my favorites among the albums they belong to, and 4 of them being among Céline's biggest 5 french hits since 2000): 2000- Sous Le Vent 2003- Contre Nature- Rien N'est Vraiment Fini- Tout L'or Des Hommes- Le Vol D'un Ange 2005- Je Ne Vous Oublie Pas- Tous Les Secrets (paroles) 2007- Immensité- A Cause- Je Cherche L'ombre- Le Temps Qui Compte 2010- Voler (with Michel Sardou) 2012- Parler A Mon Pere- Celle Qui M'a Tout Appris Quote
