Thank you very much for sharing the YouTube clip of Celine's performance for ET Canada's New Year's celebration. It was great seeing a professionally filmed version of "Loved Me Back To Life" from Las Vegas. That said, I did find the performance pretty rough. It seemed to me as if Celine was having some control problems with her breathing. I also think the "Ne me quitte pas" dress does not fit "Loved Me Back To Life" at all. Either way, thanks again for sharing the video!

 

Side Note: Did anyone else notice that ET Canada named "Loved Me Back To Life" incorrectly as "Love Me Back To Life"? LOL

Much better in the original key but the band just doesn't do this song justice! I know they shouldn't do tracks at a live orchestra show but this song needs Celine's live vocals to a backing track for this song. Band just doesn't have the umph like the song has.

Loved waking up to this performance. Wasn't home last night so I DVRed it. Thought it was great so happy she performed even if it was pre-recorded.

If someone thought that performance was rough, then I shudder to think about what they thought of the Kimmel, Ellen, or Fallon editions. It's the best one she's done yet for me, I thought she sounded great and the key was great. I agree though the dress is all wrong for that song.

He does backing vocals for a few songs in Vegas. One of them was RITD

I'm glad she went back to the original key. I did not like her performances when she sang in the lower key, it just sounded weird. The band really does not do the song justice. They should use the instrumental. But that was probably the best performance of it other than un seule fois. Edited by celine_rox

This is preposterous, it was a magnificent performance! She has mastered the song!

He sang backup on a bunch of songs dating back to "A new day..." If you watch the "Behind the Scenes" on the DVD they show him doing "I Surrender."

Oh, now I see why i missed it, i haven't check my fb account for like almost a week :wacko: Gotta go and check it right now :) Not sure 'bout who runs the profile actually.

Anyway, if she ever gives spanish album a try that would be so AWESOME. Her spanish recordings have always been one of my favorites.

Just watched 3 boys and a show again, she should wear the short black dress she had fittings for before the show began for LMBTL I've always liked it and she doesn't wear it I think it would be perfect I'll try to put link later as I am on my phone hopefully you know what I'm talking about.

Well, sorry to break it to you, but it was a joke for Día de los Inocentes (the Spanish equivalent to April Fool's day which takes place in late December). Still, we wish someday that will come true. :)

 

It is Carlitos (Celine Fan 77) who runs that profile. ;)

Speechless. I was expecting a bad performance.

 

And it was the best we've got so far, at least vocally (Even better than Une Seule Fois), her belts were a lot fuller, and "Une Seule Fois" wasn't that pitch-perfect (remember that the version on youtube has been autotuned).

 

I only wish they've used the original instrumental and another outfit but WOW at those powerful choruses!!!

Completely right! The band completely take all coolness out of the song. This song needs the special drums that are in the original backingtrack!

Without these "Rihanna" drums, the song goes nowhere. No matter how pitch perfect Celine is here. This is like a unplugged version of Loved me back to life

It does not sound cool at all, it sounds even dated.

And the guitarsolo is not cool either. Even in Quebec that solo was so much better.

May i also add that My heart will go on needs a change too? It is always the same arrangement and it sounds boring. They better listen to the original cdversion and try to change the arrangement in something more exciting. Btw - you have a 31 piece orchestra, do something with it! now is the time you can!

That way the song gets a better treatment and Celine is happy too for singing it in a different way!

Man that performance of L'amour Existe Encore at the theatre with symphony and Celine in the red dress early 90's. Why can't her 31 piece orchestra do a memorable piece like that? That's how you back a singer!
