ehild Posted December 11, 2013 at 07:36 PM Posted December 11, 2013 at 07:36 PM I saw this the other day and just about fell out of my chair! LOL I'm so glad we'll be seeing her a few places this holiday season. She's been one busy lady lately. At first, I thought it was a two-part show but then I realized they're just airing it twice. At any rate, I'll watch both times!! Quote ~Liz"Please don't make your career your life. Let it be your passion, let it bring you pleasure, but don't let it become your identity. ehild Posted December 11, 2013 at 07:43 PM Posted December 11, 2013 at 07:43 PM (edited) It does say "holiday messages" so that really makes me think she won't sing. It seems like this is a special airing of a bunch of Christmas type stuff to create one long program and the stars will just be giving their message of hope, support, etc. However, there aren't too many singers on the list (at least from that article) so it'd be cool if they each did a short song or something. I guess we'll see. Edit: part of me also wonders if this will also be a fundraiser type deal, to some degree. CelinesDIVO5 Posted December 11, 2013 at 09:03 PM Posted December 11, 2013 at 09:03 PM That would be stupid. Inviting Celine to a Christmas TV Special, but not make her sing is like throwing candy at kids but threathing to punch them in the face if they eat it. I don't think it's stupid...there will probably be more singers giving messages that aren't singing as well. This isn't a program aimed at promoting any specific artists, rather just spread the joy of the season with some of the public's favorite people. 2 Quote https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PL54qnRGM2gMatthew Charles - "Fix You" - Live at The Stonewall InnStonewall Sensation - Season 15Originally written and performed by Coldplay
ehild Posted December 11, 2013 at 09:09 PM Posted December 11, 2013 at 09:09 PM Not on my Directv yet :-( It's not on my Dish guide either. Maybe it's airing twice because, depending on your location and your local NBC affiliate, you'll get it one day or the other? Hmmmm..... Quote ~Liz"Please don't make your career your life. dmeredith Posted December 12, 2013 at 04:15 AM Posted December 12, 2013 at 04:15 AM On my TV line-up it says that the movie "A Wonderful Life" with Jimmy Stewart will be on. That's a wonderful movie, a classic in fact, but I want to see Celine! I'll keep checking tho'. I don't want to miss it! Quote
dj_a_rock Posted December 12, 2013 at 05:27 AM Posted December 12, 2013 at 05:27 AM What will the christmas message do to the album? Nothing. She needs to sing because the album is dead in the US. Quote

She needs to sing because the album is dead in the US. She can't sing if they don't ask her to do so. You're assuming they've asked her to sing. It doesn't sound like there are other singers at this event singing - everyone must have just been asked to record a message. Quote

Jessyka Posted December 12, 2013 at 11:45 AM Posted December 12, 2013 at 11:45 AM I was just thinking about how we are all complaining that it will be only a message. I guess sometimes we forget it's not all about promoting the album, or sales or that kind of stuff. It's a Christmas message, for God's sake. No wonder Celine has said in a recent interview that Christmas is not like it used to be. All we can think about is sales and sales and sales. 3 Quote http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff5/backup674/Banners/Image1.jpg
Javito Posted December 12, 2013 at 01:20 PM Posted December 12, 2013 at 01:20 PM (edited) Personally when they announce Céline in some TV show and I want her to perform, the least I think about is in sales. I couldn't care less about sales and charts, but I'd wish that all (or the most possible quantity) of songs in the album have a chance to be performed on a stage, so they'e not buried in the oblivion (like has happened already with dozens of songs in the past). So in my view, everytime she's invited to a show or an interview in TV, it's a great chance to show the world another new song of her albums (not only to make money) Edited December 12, 2013 at 01:22 PM by Javito 2 Quote "Hush, now... Loup_garou Posted December 12, 2013 at 07:36 PM Posted December 12, 2013 at 07:36 PM Because the people needs to know she's got a new album. You're right, it doesn't matter that this is to show support for the visually impaired, if she's not cashing in, then it's no good Quote
LukeD Posted December 13, 2013 at 02:03 AM Posted December 13, 2013 at 02:03 AM (edited) Chances are this appearance will not have an impact on charts, same way it happened with her short message to One Direction. Nice to see her spreading some positivity though! Edited December 13, 2013 at 02:04 AM by LukeD 2 Quote
