So. Conchita WON. Good for her fans, right?? :) Conchita's reaction was pretty much like Celine's reaction back 26 years ago. I thought Conchita would get a heart attack, seriosuly.

The song from the Netherlands sounds TERRIBLY SO f****** MUCH like Sting's 'Every Breathe You Take' :giggle: :-D

What d'u all think anyway? :)

it's good she won, though she wasn't the one I thought would eventually win B)

the Netherlands are the biggest surprise for me this year (positive one of course)

Poland #14, it was really close to reaching top10 (too bad we got no points from our natural allies; Lithuania. the UK, Ireland and Georgia)

according to official voting data released yesterday the public in Europe placed Polish song at #5 and the juries placed it at #23

but the best were the juries in the UK and Ireland (#1 in both public votes and #26 in both jury votes)

WTF? :wtf:

btw Conchita became an instant sensation, everybody seems to be talking about her performance (or rather her facial hair) :giggle:

Oh yes, the facial hair is a sensation ...

Btw can't believe Emma/Italy placed 21st ... and someone had to finish last and that was France ... wonder where they would have finished if they had sent the other girl ... and Spain made Top 10 after all the backlash from her own people ...

I knew France should've sent Joanna instead of Twin Twin, her song was awesome. :)

i'm also surprised about low placing of Italy, Emma rocked last night on stage

btw what if "Rise Like a Phoenix" was sung by a woman and not a man in drag? :hmm:

I'm asking myself the same thing. Would the effect be the same?

she might've ended somewhere in the top 10 (that's my guess)

too bad we'll never find it out

Today I had a discussion with friends about Eurovision. Everybody is talking about it. Personally I hoped Austria would win, but mostly because of the message. Not for the song itself. Of course Conchita had an excellent performance and all that. But my favorite song was from The Netherlands and when I told to my friends about it, they said it was boring and dull. And I really think the dutch song was the best. They kind of attacked me of not saying Conchita is the best. And funny thing is that I KNOW my friends and Conchita's song is not really type of music they like. And if the song was sung by a woman, they wouldn't even notice it, I'm sure of it 100%. So it seems everything is about message and not the song.

But all in all, it's a good thing for LGBT community that Austria won.

I could never blame you for that.

What a great night! We watched with 20 people and had lots of fun.

Of course... with the Netherlands coming 2nd we raised the roof!

I loved Austria. Personally I would have prefered it by a woman's voice.

Sounds like this big James Bond kind of thing or something like Whitney's I Have Nothing.

Great song!

I liked a lot of songs. Thought it was a great show with lots of great moments.

Some of the songs I didn't like at all: Germany, Poland, UK, France.

Céline Dion Mariah Carey Madonna Lara Fabian Debbie Gibson Wilson Phillips Linda Eder Tina Arena Martika

I was bored with this years contest. Liked Denmark's song, didn't do as well as i thought it would.

Didn't think CW should have won - thought Dana International had already "done" that message. And thought people were meant to vote for the song. Also think that Joe Public's votes should count for more than the jurors. Didn't mind our song, quite surprised we came 17th! Expected lower!! lol

I was in copenhagen and the crowd went wild during the semi finals and the grand final when conchita sang. It was crazy! Russia got booed so badly i almost felt sorry for the twin singers lol! The night after the 2nd semifinal i went to à eurovision bar playing eurovision stuff all night long and i was in shock to see that "ne partez pas sans moi" is truely a -gay- crowd favourite! Everybody was singing along with a very decent pronounciation! A british Guy i was talking to told me he couldnt speak a word in french and went mental when the song started and sang every Word! Thats just the power of Céline I guess ;) im so desapointed about macedonia, ireland and sweet portugal not qyalifying... Anyway I think that except for uk (that I looove) and russia (that i just found boring) the results were fair... And yes im a french guy saying that lol!

Lol, from a Brit - thankyou my friend. Thought our song deserved a bit better result but as a lot of countries hate the UK (politics etc) we'd have to have an unbelievable song to get a high result. I live in Folkestone, just across the channel x

NPPSM i love. Bit cheesy lyrics, bit basic wording but i still love it. Glad it got a good reaction from people!!

Eurovision fans could vote online to elect the ten best entries of all times and NPPSM came ninth so there were banners with the title of the song all over the place!
