I've been reading many people saying this is a filler on the album, but I really like it and I think it deserves its own thread.

 

The first time I heard Thank You, it was stuck in my head for hours. It's a beautiful song, very meaningful.

"Thank you," are the 2 words i probably say the most during my day and the 2 words i hear the most as well.

 

Last thing i want to listen at the end of the day, is Celine repeating these 2 words over and over and over for 4 minutes...

 

I dislike it.

The first few times I listened to it, I liked it but it just wasn't a fave. After a few more listens and really paying attention the song, it's definitely grown on me & become a favorite just like many of the other songs on the album. It's so beautiful and moving but the way it's arranged it still has a modern sound/edge to it. I agree....the lyrics "before I lay me down to never wake...." just gets me. It makes me think about when I'm 80, what will I look back on and be thankful for? I wonder if she thought about this for herself or for Renee (not trying to sound morbid, cynical, or anything) while she recorded this. She is getting older but Renee is definitely getting up there. Not saying he's going anywhere anytime soon but I've noticed, especially with this promo, I haven't seen him like we used to see him. Yes, in pix getting out of cars, etc. but not really sitting in the audience and front facing like he used to. Just a random thought/observation.

This song is extremely touching, the lyrics full of love and emotion, is very sad but with a happy ending, the music, Celine's voice. WOW

I LOVE this song. It literally took me at least five or six listens to get through it without crying. I dedicated BYLM to my mom way back in 1996 and I immediately thought of her when I first heard this and how it's a follow up to BYLM in that way. Beautiful lyrics, beautiful arrangement. It's one of my very facorite on the album. Filler? KILLER.

It's like an English version of her song Pour Vous from 'C'est Pour Toi', the message is basically the same. She could sing Pour Vous in francophone countries and Thank You in other countries as a dedication to her fans on a possible future world tour.

Ok at first I didn't like the song I thought it was a filler song but guess what last night and this morning I had the chorus stuck in my head and I didn't listen to it...so it isn't my favorite but it is growing on my (along with ABYG).

I really like this song too, although I didn't at first and thought it was a bit of a filler mediocre song. But as a few of you have said the line 'lay me down to never wake' is really pungent and powerful.

This one has been one my favorites since the first time I heard it for all the reasons already mentioned, beautiful and moving lyrics, plus Celine's voice is just so heartfelt and emotional. No big notes, just pure emotion. So sweet.

 

Love the idea that it's a modern version of Because You Loved Me.

I also had an idea that this song is kind of a modern version of BYLM I think 'Thank You' is one of the best songs not just on the album but one of the best songs she has recorded in 32 years actually And I know tastes differ but still I just CAN'T BELIEVE some fans consider this as a filler or something. To be honest I think the only filler on the album is 'Overjoyed'. It's OK, it's not bad at all, and it's kinda iconic to record a duet with Stevie Wonder but still i don't fancy that. Have to agree, only skip one song on this album and its "overjoyed" it just doesn't do it for me. Would definitely prefer Mr Pagannini!

Her voice sounds incredible with the riffs she does.
