Promo Action Plan from Celine's Team/Fans

Hey Fans!

Celine has been doing promo for "Loved Me Back To Life", the single and album in the U.S. for a while now, but it's been spread out and hasn't seemed completely organized...

There's been a lot of chatter about Celine not having very much U.S. promo going on for the week that the new album is being released in the U.S. other than The Dr. Oz show?

Billboard magazine gave some minor details recently about promo plans for the remaining of this year in the U.S. but what do you think Celine's team should do to promote the new album and new single LMBTL?

What can us fans do to promote or request promo for the new album and new single(s)?

So far here's what Celine has done in the U.S. to promote the LMBTL album & single=

The Katie show (talk show) = earlier this year

Extra (Entertainment news show) = in early September

Access Hollywood (Entertainment news show) = in early September

Larry King’s new online show = September

The Jimmy Kimmel Late Night show = September

The Ellen show = September

The Today show = September & late October

The Jimmy Fallon show = late October

The View = late October

QVC concert = early November

Did I miss anything?

Should Celine promote the album and single with the following? =

The Late show with David Letterman

Good Morning America

The Voice

Dancing With The Stars

Oprah’s Next Chapter on OWN

VH1 Unplugged

Loved Me Back To Life CBS TV Special

The American Music Awards: November 24th

The Queen Latifah Show

The Rockefeller Christmas Tree Lighting Live on NBC, December 4th

The Grammy Nomination Concert on CBS Live: December 6th

These are just some highly rated shows that can get the word out!

What about radio airplay? Should Celine do a radio station tour for a day or two?

Are fans calling in and requesting Celine on their local Adult Contemporary stations?

I have been calling to request LMBTL since September around me. I would love to see Celine move higher up the charts!!

We’ve been “waiting for so long” for this album to come, and here it is! What should Celine’s team do to promote Celine well, and what can us fans do to help get Celine’s new music noticed? Should we go on the above shows web pages and request Celine as a guest? Should we post comments on Celine’s website about wanting Celine on these programs? Should we commit to calling our local radio stations more to request LMBTL? I plan to, the question is, who else does?

We need to keep on requesting her new song on the radio.

Hey everybody, I'm in shock by the severe lack of promo on behalf of Columbia records/Sony Music Entertainment (Celine's record label) for her newest album and

songs on it. I bought the album and after listening to it, I think it is Celine's best English album since "A New Day Has Come"! The songs are really good! I especially love "Loved Me Back To Life", "Always Be Your Girl", "Somebody Loves Somebody" and "Incredible"!! Celine deserves much more promo than just one major TV appearance since the album has been released in the U.S., The Dr. Oz show! C'mon! Really??

I just e-mailed Sony Music ( hub.sonymusic.com/about/feedback.php ) with feedback about our concern regarding the lack of promo to date. Here is what I sent:

To Whom It May Concern:

Hi, my name is Derek and I’m writing to you regarding Celine Dion and the

the promotion of Celine’s new album “Loved Me Back To Life”. I have been a fan of Celine

for about 20 years. I live in the United States in Michigan. I love Celine’s voice so much! Her amazing voice and music have helped me so much in my life, and I have so many family members and friends that also love Celine and feel the same. I wanted to write to you because there is concern about the lack of promotion Celine is getting in the U.S. since Celine’s album “Loved Me Back To Life” was released on November 5th this year.

During the release week of “Loved Me Back To Life” there was only one major television promotion done, which was the Dr. Oz show on November 6th. This seemed very odd, and was upsetting. Television is the biggest promo that music artist’s use with support from their record labels to promote new releases. After reading many comments and posts online from Celine’s most loyal, dedicated fans, it was certain that they were also confused and upset by this.

As of today, there has only been one other television appearance that has been announced in the U.S. for the remaining of this year: A Home for the Holiday’s with Celine Dion on CBS in December.

Why is there such a lack of promotion from your company to promote Celine’s new album and her new song’s?

Myself and so many other Celine fans are hoping that this will change. After purchasing “Loved Me Back To Life” and listening to it, I consider it to be an amazing album, with great songs that deserve a chance to be promoted. There are some television shows that Celine has yet to appear on to promote her new album that have strong ratings and myself and many other Celine fans believe can really help aid the sales and success of the new album. They are:

The Late show with David Letterman

Good Morning America

The Voice- PLEASE help Celine go on this show! This seems to be the most requested appearance!

The finale is on December 17, 2013 for season 5

Dancing With The Stars

Oprah’s Next Chapter on OWN

VH1 Unplugged

The Queen Latifah Show

The Rockefeller Christmas Tree Lighting, Live on NBC, December 4th

The Grammy Nomination Concert on CBS, Live: December 6th

Also, since the single of “Loved Me Back To Life” has seemed to stall out on Adult Contemporary radio,

will Celine’s next single be released soon? It seems that Celine’s duet with Ne-Yo “Incredible” is the most popular choice for Celine’s next single by many Celine fans online. I agree that “Incredible” would be a great choice for the next single! It is an awesome song!

Celine herself said this about “Incredible”:

“This song is going to become a song for the Olympics”, and Billboard magazine also said recently:

There's also "Incredible," a duet with Ne-Yo so massive the Olympic Committee should start bookmarking it for the 2014 Winter Games.

Will “Incredible be submitted by your company to the Olympic Committee for the 2014 Winter Games?

I hope so! This would surely guarantee a greater exposure to this song and for success with the song and with Celine’s new album!

I want to thank you for your time, and ask for more promotion of the amazing album “Loved Me Back To Life” in the United States, and of the albums incredible songs. Please give Celine a better chance to have more success, and be seen by America on many more TV programs in the near future.

Sincerely,

Derek

I hope this helps, and get's the label to think about the fact that there's many fans that are worried and wondering where the promotion is?

Please e-mail Sony Music if you feel lead to, it can't hurt to have more fans e-mailing them about more promotion. I put Columbia Records as the Subject.

Hope to hear what you all think??

I think we should all send emails or do something. I hate the U.S. section of sonymusic. Dang them and their stereotypical beliefs of what is a Celine Dion fan. Dumb!

Ok fellow fans, I'm a very big Celine fan, I've been a fan for about 20 yrs! I love Celine and her voice, but I'm getting really, really frustrated with Celine's record company!

I need to ask: Where is the promotion/advertising/marketing of Celine and Ne-Yo's Incredible single?

I have been extremely disappointed in Columbia Records/Sony Music since the release of "Loved Me Back To Life" the single and album, which has led me to write Columbia Records twice now regarding the lack of promo. If you want to do the same, and I hope other fans do, here is the address: http://hub.sonymusic...ut/feedback.php, which is within the Columbia Records webpage.

Why has "Incredible" not been sent to U.S. Radio? This song should be sent to radio for Adult Contemporary AND Top 40, it has Top 40 hit potential! It should be sent ASAP! What is Columbia/Sony waiting for? It should have been sent to radio in December when Celine's official website announced as the next single for North America on 12/13, or maybe the same day as Celine and Ne-Yo performed "Incredible" on The Voice= 12/17 or maybe even the next day when they performed this on Celine's holiday CBS special? But nope, of course not! As of today, now January 20th- A month after The Voice performance!- this amazing song has still not been sent to radio! WHY????

I was thinking that just maybe Columbia/Sony was waiting to finally release the song to radio because it was going to be announced as a song for the 2014 Winter Olympics as Celine, Ne-Yo and even Billboard thought it should but that does not look likely now! :( Danielle Bradbery(a winner of The Voice) has been picked to sing the official theme song, and Katy Perry has her song Roar being used for promo for the Olympics!

Ever since Tommy Mottola left Sony in 2002 Celine's career promo has been awful! He left just after I'm Alive was released, then we all know the interesting choices that have been made in terms of Celine's singles (not including "Taking Chances", "I Drove All Night" or "Have You Ever Been In Love" which were good single choices) and how bad promo has been!

When will "Incredible" be released to radio? Will the song be used still to promote the Olympic's along with Katy Perry?

What is happening to Celine's career? She is the BEST selling female artist ever! Sold over 221 million albums and is the most successful act in Las Vegas since Elvis!

Why is Celine's record label not supporting her? Her success will give them success too!

Happy that Ne-Yo joined Celine in Vegas to sing "incredible" with her recently and that Celine and Ne-Yo will be on The Late Show with Jay Leno soon! It almost seems like they are promoting the song on their own, I give them credit, I wish I could do the same for Columbia Records!

I really think it is the record producers and Sony that should be pushing this album! No they just want to sit back and continue to rake in their share of the profits. We all know Rene' has done more than his share of promoting it. :wtf:

Exactly! We've done our part by buying the album and promoting in on social media such as facebook and twitter. The rest lies on their hands now.

Why I agree that Sony and Columbia records SHOULD be promoting Celine's "Loved Me Back To Life" album and the single "Incredible", we see that they clearly are doing a horrible job! Also, every loyal, dedicated fan should want to support their favorite singer and try to help them to be successful, whether it is by buying their CD or songs, REQUESTING THEIR SINGLES at radio, requesting their music videos (when there is one!) on music video channels, seeing them at a concert, streaming their songs online or viewing their video's on the internet (which now helps with chart performance) or voting for them when they are up for awards!

It is not something you need to do, but can be a huge way to help Celine to have success! I've been more then happy to buy Celine's CD's, singles, request her at radio, watch her videos online, and also write Columbia Records/Sony music about the lack of promo and suggestions for what us Celine fans what to see, which is more of a drive by them to help Celine continue to do really well on the charts and to see Celine be promoted on TV!

I also just e-mailed NBC regarding The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. I asked them to please help Celine to be on Jay Leno again before his final show is over! This would also be awesome promotion, especially if Celine performs her new single "Incredible"!

My point is: We don't need to help Celine, but why would we not want to help her? It's easy to do, and Celine has spoken about being very thankful for her fans. We all seem to love when Celine does well, or has a new peformance or video, so why not help let Columbia Records know how we feel about Celine, and what we hope they will do to help Celine's career? Or why not keep requesting her songs at radio to let programmers know that there is a demand for Celine and that she's still very relevant?

I plan to continue to help Celine, I want to be a part of her success, but how about you?

As one gets older, as Celine has done, you start to have a different definition of "success". It sounds to me as if you equate "success" with huge album sales, music videos, her music on every radio station, etc. Celine has been there, done that, created her own t-shirt line, and sold it. When you age, you have a different definition of success: How happy am I with what I've created? Is this something I'm proud of? Did I enjoy myself as I was doing it? Album sales means nothing. Music videos mean nothing. Her music on every radio station means nothing. Does it mean more people would be aware of her? Yes. Does that mean "success"? No, not to a grounded individual. I understand that fans want everyone in the world to love the same music that they do. It validates the fan's choice of music. But Celine is not concerned with that. She isn't concerned with how many people listen to her on the radio. She has said this over and over and over and OVER. Why don't the fans get this? She still has people coming to see her perform live. That is her passion. That is her "success". She makes tons of money without being on the radio. And while the fans may worry that, if her songs stop being played on the radio, she will eventually stop being able to sell out music venues, I would point them to Barbra Streisand, Cher, and Tina Turner. Relax. Take a breath. None of this matters. Celine is happy. Why don't you try being happy, too? That would be the best way to show her your own "success."
