Hi.......My name is....Celine5Diamonds (C5D).....and I am............a Celine Fanatic!

 

Yes, and I'm a guy and I DON'T CARE! I-LOVE-CELINE!

 

I am so happy to see I am not the only one!

 

Well, I'm not sure where to start. So, here goes....I think its so cool that this forum is here for Celine Fans! Thank you.

 

I came across this site when I believe I saw the web address on a video featuring Celine. And this site was really just what I needed, I just can't seem to express my love of Celine and her music....don't know what to do about it, can't seem to get enough of her videos and of course right now with all the press she is doing for "Loved Me Back To Life", I am in heaven! I am soooo excited about the new album!!! And haven't they been doing a great job with teasing us? I mean it was great that "LMBTL" was released first as a single, but for Celine to also perform "Somebody Loves Somebody" and "Water And A Flame" on theToday show, I was really just blown away not only because we got to hear 3 of her new songs, but also because i didn't know how i was going to wait until Nov 5th! Then CD.com said USA Today was streaming "Incredible", her new duet with Ne-Yo! What!!! All 4 songs are just exactly that...INCREDIBLE!

 

I mean, does anybody work harder than Celine? Two performances on Today, Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, The View etc etc all the while maintaing her shows in Vegas, a husband and 3 kids! No wonder everyone is so excited, I know I am. In fact, on the down cycle of Celine's career when she's not doing press and new music etc, I get downright depressed! And wasn't Celine GREAT on the "singing password" segment on Jimmy Fallon??? LOVED IT!!! AND today on The View!---- wow, Celine just had a great aura about her and so confident and happy!

 

I will TRY to sum up my Celine fan history for you;

 

- It all started when "Where Does My Heart Beat Now" came out in 1990. I immediatley fell in love with her voice.

- After the Unison album, When "Celine Dion" album came out, "Love Can Move Mountains" and "Beauty and the Beast" really got me,

i was soo hooked. With the "Color Of My Love" album, ALL the great songs just solidified my interest in Celine. With "Falling Into You" - - that was IT! ! Not only was there no-one-else in music I loved more, I started learning songs/music because of Celine.

- I was a charter member of TeamCeline and joined on Dec 3, 2001. (that's what the certificate they sent me says. I don't know what year TeamCeline was started but this was around her 6th english album.)

- I saw Celine live on her "Falling Into You" tour in New Orleans in 1996.

- I then saw Celine live at the "Lets Talk About Love" tour in Denver on Oct 1, 1999. (this show has quite a story behind it)

This show was also the closest I've ever been to Celine. I got up out of my seat, walked to the stage and took her picture from about the 4th row! (where can I post it?)

- On May 18, 2002, I bought tickets to see "A New Day" on April 10, 2003. Only a few weeks afer it premiered. However, due to circumstances I cannot explain, i was unable to go to Vegas and did not attend to the show. I never did get to Vegas to see her and this has been a major dissapointment in my life, as you can imagine. I hope to see her in Vegas in 2014.

- I have always collected Celine things/collectibles and my collection has grown quite large. I have tried to be a "completist", but discovered this was just about impossible...but that hasn't stopped me from trying! I have almost every CD, DVD, book, box sets and dozens and dozens of other Celine collectibles. Some are very rare. (to me anyway!) I apparantly can't get enough!

 

So yes, I admit I am a Celine Fanatic! I came up with my user name because Celine's favorite number is 5 and because she's not just a "4 star" artist, to me, she's a 5 DIAMOND artist! What else can be said? LOL

 

Feel free to write me! I love other Celine fans, they are the nicest people to meet and talk to and when you have someone to look up to like Celine, it shows in her fan base! And since I am trying to plan a trip sometime in 2014 to go see Celine, it would be great to meet others who are also going. Of course if Celine decided to tour for Loved Me Back To Life, i will so-be-there at a city near me!

 

I don't know much about this site yet, but hope to discover it all, make some new friends and talk about our girl Celine! There is really no negative in regard to Celine, the only problem I currently have is that I have to work on Tues, Nov 5th and it will be 5pm before I can go buy the new album! Thanks CDF!

I know it is late, and I am soooooo sorry very few people have replied to this. But I have to because most of the feelings you expressed, I can totally relate to. I cannot get enough and I cannot express my love of her in a deep enough way. Now that it is out, what do you think of the album? Unfortunately, you will find that many people who claim to be fans have plenty of negative to say about her. I relate to being depressed on the down cycle, but as you know she has so many albums, in English and French, that I don't feel deprived. Anyway, enjoy your time here.

Oh yes, forgot to say, despite all the negativity, Celine fans are truly the best people ever, best singer, best fans. It does show. Okay now I'm reeeeeally done!!!!!! LOL

I love the album "Loved Me Back To Life"!! I have longed for more uptempo songs from Celine and the few on this record are great. My favorite song on the album is "Somebody Loves Somebody" which has an infectious hook and melody. I really wish Celine would consider working with this writer again and I REALLY enjoyed the video of them working together on the recording of this song. My next favorite is "Loved Me Back To Life" with a great bass line and cool guitar solo! Then "Water and a Flame"....if I had to pick the top 3.

 

If I had a least favorite and I guess I do, is the Stevie Wonder duet, "Overjoyed". I haven't read what everyone else thinks, but I just don't think this song has a place on THIS album. I understand that he is one of Celine's favorite people and with that, i will give the song a pass-for her. I just think the song is way over exposed and not really any new arrangements with this version and for me personally, this song could have been left out in place of a stronger, more original song. I'm sure Wonder fans would disagree and rightly so, after all, he IS singing with Celine!!

 

The other song I would mention is "Lullabye" which sounds like it came straight off the Miracle album, yet is still a great song. However, having said that, the album is stil full of new material for us English fans to absorb. I love love love Breakaway, Save Your Soul, Didn't Know Love, Thank You, Thankful & At Seventeen and the full impact of these songs, at least for me, will not be fully understood until I learn them completely! I am excited to hear Celine will sing "Incredible" with Ne-Yo on The Voice next Monday night. I haven't seen this live yet. I also hope she will sing some of these songs on her Christmas special next Wednesday, but I doubt she will since it's about children and Christmas. Anyway, thanks for asking, I do love this album. I only pray Celine will not make us wait 6-long-years again for another english album. She is in the prime of her life and I think more than ever they should be recording her voice. I also love the pop angle and hope and pray they keep giving us new songs like #1 & #2 on this record!! Thanks again, I hope you have a Merry Christmas!

Welcome! I am also a new member to the Celine Dion forum.

 

Thank you for writing your background on Celine, that was really nice to read. I have also been a fan since the late 90's and have follow her music career and bough all her albums ever since.

 

When she released her Vegas show in 2003 'A New Day' I was like "Oh my god I must fly over there and see that show, it sounds amazing". Sadly it didn't happen as when I was in the early 20's I could never afford to fly from England to Vegas.

 

When she came back to the strip in 2011 I was so excited, this was my chance to see her finally! So in 2012 I flew to Vegas, stayed in The Cosmopolitan (an incredible hotel) and went to see the show the day after I arrived. I had butterflies in my stomach and when the curtain was finally pulled back and Celine stepped forward singing open arms I started to cry, there was a man sitting next to me (about 50 years old) with his wife and he started to cry as well!!!

 

Anyway I pulled myself together in a few seconds and enjoyed the show. My favourite song from the show is The Reason, because of the lyrics, they have such emotion and meaning to me.

 

I'm also very excited to say I'll be going back to Vegas this year to see the show! I also have the great honour and priviledge of getting to meet Celine before the show with my meet and greet tickets I bought (see post from earlier today) I cannot tell you how excited I am, I have no idea what I'm going to say but hopefully I will be able to hug her and tell her how much she means to me
