So, let's talk about "Thankful" from the Loved Me Back to Life album. It's surprisingly turned out to be one of the best on the album IMO, and Céline's voice sounds like it's from the 90's again. That big, booming note at the climax with the choir reminds me a lot of Call the Man. Your thoughts?

I'm still in a very early stage to judge the songs properly, but so far I think that "Thankful" is the most majestic piece off the album. It's perfection on all levels. A very strong piece! It lies somewhere between Beyonce, Patti LaBelle and Aretha Franklin in possibly the most Celinish way!

THANKFUL is perfect. It could fit perfectly on FALLING INTO YOU. And that's the best compliment a Céline song can get! :cry:

The bridge leading into the big note/choir explosion is so experimental and beautiful.

 

it has an "annie lennox" quality to it. Funny that Céline just mentioned her!

 

 

I also can't help hearing "waking up on the morning rain" :P

The voice is ethereal-Annie-Lennox voice followed by powerful Je-Sais-Pas-ad-libs voice!!!

Among all, THANKFUL is the track i keep going back to with gratitude that Celine is still willing to give us a glorious sky-scraping tour de force. Magnificent, indeed!! :clap:

This masterpiece reminds me of Je Chanterai, one of my favourites of Céline French stuff. My black bf loves it, the gospel choir and Céline's voice like it was straight out of the 90s. This album really has something for everyone.
