celinerific Posted August 27, 2013 at 08:18 PM Posted August 27, 2013 at 08:18 PM Alright everybody: all you Herc folks, Xenites, BSG geeks, lesbians, fabulous gays, etc etc… Let's do this in order. The Hercules Days Started out as a guest star here and there, some unknown little Kiwi that just wanted to make it in this big bad world. Then, after Hercules ended, someone (Rob Tapert) thought "Hey, let's try a spin-off with this Xena." And right then, that someone whipped up a big gay storm, and they didn't even know it yet. It was a wonderful. The Xena Days Let's face it. If you ever meet someone that doesn't like Xena, they've just bought a one way speeding ticket straight for tartarus. Xena was the most successful syndicated show in the 90s, and surpassed its cult competitors, even Star Trek and Baywatch. I kid you not. Google it. I mean, when does this happen… EVER? That a spin-off is eons more successful than its parent show. Well, it happened here. Lucy made her big break playing the super hot, super sexy, killer (literally) babe Xena The Warrior Princess. In fact, this show was so successful, that even today (12 years after the series finale), thousands of fans from around the world gather for the, get this: XENA CONVENTION (yes, there's a ghaddham convention) every year in January. So needless to say… this show was the defining moment for Lucy, and put her on the A-List Hollywood map, now when people think Lucy Lawless, they automatically thing Xena. Pretty awesome, if you ask me. However, I'll have you know that I've only cried for the past 12 years after the series finale. Battlestar Galactica I don't know about you, but I totally rooted for the Cylons, and D'Anna Biers (Lucy's character) was bureaucratically, robotically, connivingly amazing. There wasn't just one Lucy, there were many of them, and they just kept coming back after getting killed… Kind of like Xena if you ask me… for a while a least. I got mad when they boxed her. Then regained happiness when someone unboxed her and she came back and was like "I'm back *censored*." The L WordLucy as a, suit-wearing, gun-bearing police woman. Need I say more? Spartacus After years backing the fact that she would never go nude on camera… Lucy goes nude of camera, and about 99.9% of the fandom (and the rest of the world) just went ballistic - lots of messes to clean up. I mean, it wasn't just regular hot sex, it was threesome sex, slave sex, assisted pleasuring… and hot lesbian sex too! Just a lot of raw sex. And then some… And to back it all up, Lucretia went bloody coconuts in Vengeance, and then it was just some mighty fun to watch. But all that aside, brilliant performance on Lucy's part. I'm going to stop there. I know she was in a bunch of other cool stuff like No Ordinary Family, Parks & Rec, Top of the Lake… And don't even get me started on Locusts, and its offspring Vampire Bats. But these were just the ones that stood out for me. So let's now all take a moment to appreciate what this woman has done for us Quote http://i58.tinypic.com/2qbub9c.png @ErikaTran | Insta: aireexwp | erikatran.com
