I wasn't sure where to post this. A few days ago I received an e-mail from CBC. Maybe someone will be interested in this :)

 

 

 

My name is Mercedes Grundy, I'm a researcher with CBC television. I'm currently part of a team that's casting across Canada for a new prime time show focusing on rare and unusual items for sale. I'm interested in finding someone who collects rare and special Celine Dion memorabilia - or even better, owns one of Celine's worn costumes.

 

I'll tell you a bit about the show that we're working on...

 

FOUR ROOMS is a celebration of unique items and the stories behind them. We are looking for people who want to sell an interesting piece and share their story with Canada. This item can be anything from antiques, art, collectibles, fashion etc., as long as it’s a unique piece. The seller shows their item and negotiates with the Nation’s top buyers and then has the chance to make the deal of their life.

 

We would love to have a piece of Celine's history showcased on the program.

Someone does own a pair of her shoes...the ones she broke on The Rosie O'Donnell Show back in 99 when she performed "That's The Way It Is". She signed them, and Rosie put them up on Ebay for charity.

Interesting that they want a costume she's worn . .I just recently read an article -- though I think the article was from ca. 1998 -- where Celine said that she'd saved all her stage costumes. Edited by chocolatechip15

I wonder what else qualifies as one of a kind merchandise? Maybe half an eaten sandwich with an autographed napkin by Celine?

There is a vinyl ??? I have the cassette tape.

 

But seriously, I'm not interested at all selling any of my collection items. But I sure will take a look a that TV show.

I don't know if there is a vinyl. I don't think there is.. I was just using it as an example since that it's something that might be considered rare merchandise. Well at least for me anyway.

 

I don't collect anymore but I agree I wouldn't be giving away my rare one of a kind merchandise either.

Honestly I bet that the people who have these special memorabilia (ie. a costume from a concert) probably aren't fans just super rich collectors of this kind of stuff. What true fan who has something like that would wanna get rid of? Granted I suppose anything can happen

People and situations change....

 

A forum member recently won an auction for a dress that C wore for a private show/ fundraiser... And I to thought about the white boots that she auctioned off back in 99 after the heal broke while performing on rosie's show.

I have a few rare items and one of which im thinking of selling which is the vegas stage piece signed on the stage itself by celine in her hotel room here in london.

This might be a little off topic but while we are on the topic of stage clothes, I really want them to put some of her stage outfits on display in Las Vegas outside of the auditorium like Cher did for her concerts. How neat would that be to see them up close?

Taylor Swift has done the same thing during her Red Tour with costumes and outfits from performances and music videos. It's kind of cool to see those kinds of things up close!

According to a press conference she gave in Quebec in 1998, she keeps all her stage costumes since the very beginning.

You don't need to sell the item in question, you just go into each room and they make you offers. It's up to you if you sell. So you could still get your face on the telly AND go home with your item.

 

Four rooms is a good show.

The fan who won the dress lives in France as far as I know though.

So I got the email back from them. Apparently you must be Canadian to take a part in it.
