Ladies and gentlemen of the CelineDionForum and to the world

I would like to pay my special respects to Gory who suddenly passed away. My Heart goes out his family, Friends and to his co stars of Glee.

He was a wonderful actor with a kind heart. His death shocked me very much.

No one can ever replace him he is a special friend to the show to Hollywood and to the world. I hope that glee would make a special episode to him. His heart and soul will always be with us and he is now in Heaven away from pain and he is looking down on us.

Yes, very sad. RIP

This really touched me:

Whoever your idol is make sure you tell him/her that you love them. Because today I found out that I lost mine.

Was so shocked when I saw this on the news this morning!

Very sad to see such a young talented guy taken away when he's life was really coming together for him.

Prayers and thoughts go out to his family , friends & cast members of glee.

my heart goes out to his girlfriend Lea Michele, I read this morning they were due to be married in 2 weeks time , that they just knew they were meant for each other and were eager to start a family together :-(

She was only on twitter 2 days ago tweeting about her upcoming album and even tweeted a picture of her hugging a picture of Celine ( one of her idols ) that was hanging in the record company halls.

She must have been feeling on top of the world about her album and upcoming wedding to Cory and now her world has come crashing down!

I really pray her and all of those close to Cory will be givien the strength to get through this awful time and I hope they are given their privacy by the media.

I'm a huge fan of the show and without Cory it will never be the same again. Rachel and Finn were like Glees version of Ross and Rachel, I always hoped in the end their characters would end up together , but sadly this will not be the case!

RIP CORY

Devastating news. Such a great talent and by everyone's accounts a very sweet person. Gone too soon.

Thoughts and prayers are with Cory's family and of course Lea Michele.

je me changerai en or pour que tu m'aimes encore

He had a certain charm in him that I didn't find in any of the other characters. Apart from Glee, he seemed to be a genuinely nice guy and almost everyone spoke highly of him. He knew he had a problem with drug and substance abuse and he openly acknowledged it and he went to get help. That makes him a better human being and a real loss than the other stupid 'celebrities' out there who either have lost their marbles and do fcuked up bullshit. And those scums invade the TV and still get to live.

RIP Cory. You will be missed but hope you find the solace now wherever you are.

I was shocked when I read this on another topic here on the forum yesterday. I used to follow Glee and really liked Cory/Finn. My partner is a dedicated fanatic and was also saddened at this news. Substance and drug abuse is claiming far too amy of our artists.

I was absoltely devistated. In fact, at first I was so in shock that I thought I read it wrong.

This is the first time that a main character of a show I watched had ever passed away....especially when the show was still on and the actor was only 2 years older than me. I'm completely devIstated. I can't believe that Fynn won't be on my TV anymore. In my early 20s I used to party hard, and I mean REALLY hard. So hard to the point that it makes me feel guilty for still being alive here on Earth, yet he's gone. I know what he was going through, and just I just wish he could still be here so we could share stories of addiction Survival.

Sad but do we have to be sorry for him ? No ! Unfortunately he paid for his unresponsible actions. Heroine and Alcohol together are not the best to keep healthy

Um, yes we SHOULD feel sorry for him. Have you ever had a drug problem? I bet not, so you have NO clue what it's like. Your comment was completely closed minded and ignorant.

It's not like Cory wasn't trying to fight his addiction , he was very open about it and used it as an opportunity to warn fans of the dangers of getting involved in drugs.

So yes we should feel sorry for him he tried to kick the habit , only going to rehab a few months back! He certainly didn't want to or did not deserve to die!

He should still be here with his family and Lea:-(

Lets just hope this is a warning to the younger glee fans to stay away from drugs.

It's still really sad for me :( I've watched Glee since the beginning and they're such a close cast. He was a really loving and humble man despite all of his success. I'm going to miss him.

One of his cast members Dianna Agron gave a statement a few days ago I believe. It was beautifully said, in my opinion. “I have never lost a friend. In this difficult time, I am leaning on all of the wonderful memories we shared with Cory, how many ways he was able to make us smile. Glee was a gift to all of us. It gave us a family in this industry. We really cut our teeth and grew up on this show. In playing underdogs, we learned that we had dug into the hearts of our viewers and that we could stay there.

“Cory is so deserving of that place in everyone’s hearts. He was one of the most generous and kind people that I have ever met. He had a smart, curious mind, he was an enormous talent. He was loving to not only me, but my family. My heart goes out to his family, to Lea, to everyone that is struggling with the loss of our friend. We will miss you Cory. We will always carry a piece of you with us."

Demi Lovato gave a comment as well when she was asked about it, and I thought it was well said considering a lot of people are saying it's his fault he's passed away :

"All it takes is one moment of vulnerability to get slipped into your addiction," she told PEOPLE Wednesday. "It's not a choice. Nobody chooses to use. He didn't choose to die. It was the disease. It can creep up on you at any moment. It only takes one moment of relapse to potentially die. It's really scary, but I'm really hoping that from this, people are able to see this is a very, very, very dangerous disease."

"The main person in my thoughts is Lea," Lovato says. "I am praying for her so hard and I love her so much. I'm wishing her a lot of strength right now."

Do YOU have a clue ? I am not closed minded fighting against addiction is the hardest thing that's why it mostly failed, drugs, medecine alcohol, or whatever toxic . But Did he start drug and alcohol with a knife under his troat ? Does someone oblige him to start ? I don't think so !!!! Was he completely stupid not to know it was endangering his life ? Of course NO. NO one today ignore it. SO when he started he was complete responsible. He chose this way of living..... Bad choice !!!!

I am hurt by your post because I have an alcohol addiction. I have spend 2 years in a clinic and one year aftercare and sometimes it still goes wrong and I relapse. And I have to start all over again . Does someone force me to relapse? No, I do it to myself, that is the hardest part. Did someone forced me in the beginning? No. But did I wanted to be an addict? No. Do I feel stupid about it? Yes and very ashamed and your post is not helping.

You don't have to understand it. Heck, I don't even understand it sometimes. But you can't look inside someones head. But some addicts are really trying and sadly fail.

Just needed to say this.

By the way, I am doing great know :). But I always have to be carefull.

Its going to be so sad!!

I love the show and without Cory it will never be the same for me , I always thought Finn and Rachel would be together in the end :-(

It's going to be hard to watch when he's character dies because even tho Ryan murphy has said they want to be respectful to the casts feelings...it's still going to be so raw for them.

And as for Lea Michele , iv loved her on the show from day one and saw her potential and even remember saying in 10 years time she is gonna be a huge star outside this show and I still believe she will be , she has shown huge strength , courage and grace in what must be a beyond heart breaking time for her ...and continuing on with the show only proves her inner strength.

She has an album in the works and I pray it does well for her , at least her music may help her heal.

Iv read that Cory said Lea was like his guardian angel on earth ...now I guess it's time for him to be hers in heaven:-(

Do I have a clue? lol....you're really fighting a losing battle if you're going to go there with me. You want to know MY history? I used to be into meth. Crystal meth, which has been deemed the worst drug in the world. Why did I do it?...I had an eating disorder, and this kept the pounds off my body. Any pounds I didn't want would melt off. I didn't choose to have an eating disorder. I wish I never had one. But that's what drew me to meth. I haven't done it in like 6 or 7 years, but I certainly didn't CHOOSE to get into that the way you think I did. I don't know what Cory's story was, but neither do you and how DARE you judge him, or myself, or anyone else. I bet you're one of those people who thinks being gay is a choice and that we all go to hell. We just CHOSE it, right? IGNORANCE!!!! That's all I will ever associate with you. You are an ignorant human being, and you have opinions about subjects you know NOTHING about!!!

My last answer because this conversation is just absurd. You are telling me that i am ignorant and close minded. You mix everything up. First of all you are accusing me for judging people. Who wrote " I bet you 're one of those people who thinks being gay is a choice". It's you !!! Who judges people here ??? Sexual orientation is not the topic but if you want to know being gay, hetero, transsexual or asexual is not a problem for me. Just like abortion, priest marriage or embryo medical experiments are OK for me. So you can't decently call me " narrow-minded".

You want to tell your eating disorder story ? Perfect it's something i know very well too. and eating disorder does not lead every victim to choose meth as slimming method !! . You are very sensitive to the Corey story because it reminds yours. I can understand but why don't you accept people think differently ? I don't say these stories are not sad. But we do not have to cry over them . I regret my english skills aren't better to express my questionings. I am fed up of this general and hypocritical display of compassion. Today you have to publicly mourn everyone. It's socially well thought to be affected, no matter if you actually don't care as long as you show off. That's exactly what I wanted to tell in my comments. Do accept people have different opinion !! and if so it does not make them ignorant, intolerant or heartless.

Cory Monteith’s Glee Tribute: What Songs NEED to Be in It?

http://www.wetpaint.com/glee/articles/2013-07-24-cory-monteiths-tribute-music-songs

1. “My Heart Will Go On” by Celine Dion, sung by Lea Michele

It’s perhaps one of the most beloved — and heartbreaking — love songs of this generation. Finn was taken from Rachel far too soon, just like Jack in Titanic. Lea Michele is always begging Glee creatorRyan Murphy to let her sing a Celine Dion song. This particular Celine ballad fits Lea and Rachel’s situation eerily well.
