Take a look

Hello guys! Maybe some of you know that I like writing, I love making up my own stories every time I find inspiration in something or someone. Sometimes I even imagine them turning into motion picture. I have these fantasies of my stories turning into movies some day, I even like to think which actors would play the roles, etc. Pure daydreaming, you see. Anyway... A few days ago I was watching 'Memoirs of a Geisha' and thought to myself 'Hey, I could try to do something like this'. So here's my a lot more contemporary version (I had very hard times with making up the Japanese names so I'd really like to thank Google for this :giggle: ). My 'detailed synopsis', if you want to. It's unfinished, I'll probably update it in a few days. So if you guys have some time to waste :wink2: , take a look just for entertainment. Feel free to comment. Thanks in advance and excuse my not so good English.

25-year-old Sophia and her younger sister Lillie are daughters of London-based Japanese restaurant owner Kenji Tanaka and his French wife Marie. Sophia has always been proud of her Japanese descent while Lillie seems to feel somewhat uncomfortable with it. She even hides in an attempt to catch the attention of English boy Nick.

One evening the Tanaka restaurant is visited by a famous Japanese couple living in London - Haruto Mori, a handsome man in his late thirties, and his wife Yui, the only daughter of the businessman Kamoto. It is Yui's birthday but she looks way too sad. Rumour has it that her marriage is shattered but Kamoto would never allow a divorce.

A few days later, Sophia attends a traditional Japanese event. She meets Haruto who is there without Yui. He openly shows an interest in Sophia and suggests giving her a lift home but she refuses. The next evening Haruto visits the Tanaka restaurant along with two fellow businessmen. He secretly gives Sophia a short note - an invitation for a teahouse. She hesitates but eventually goes to the meeting only to leave in a hurry after rejecting his advances. Haruto and Yui once again go to the Tanaka restaurant. He follows Sophia on her way to the kitchen and insists to see her in private. It is now his turn to receive a short note containing Sophia's cell phone number. He calls her later that night to inform her that he booked a hotel apartment for the weekend, tells her the address and hangs up.

At the hotel Haruto tries to kiss Sophia for the first time but she stops him, asking about his wife. He then reveals his intention to leave Yui for Sophia at any cost. Haruto is once again about to kiss her but she stops him for the second time, saying in a playful tone 'Wait. I never said I wanted you'. ‘Do it now', he says, looking straight in her eyes so she whispers 'I am yours' in Japanese. However, their first kiss is interrupted by a phone call from Kamoto who tells Haruto that Yui was rushed to hospital. An upset Sophia goes back home. Her parents try to talk to her but she insists that there is nothing wrong. Four days pass before Sophia hears from Haruto. They finally meet in a park but he refuses to answer her questions about Yui so she angrily runs away from him just when it starts raining.

Back home, Sophia overhears her parents talking about Yui. She apparently attempted a suicide because of rumours about her husband’s affair with a younger woman, ‘his little geisha’. Sophia rushes to her room and starts crying. Some time later, Kenji finds her there still weeping, and asks what happened. At first Sophia keeps silence, then confesses to her father that she is Haruto Mori’s ‘little geisha’. ‘We did nothing wrong, she explains with tears falling down her cheeks, we didn’t even… Well, we did. We kissed only once…then Kamoto called… But I won’t see Haruto again, I promise!’. ‘Don’t you love him?’, Kenji gently asks and she replies ‘I do…but Yui needs him more than me’, then keeps on crying in her father’s arms.

The secret is kept between father and daughter for months and every time Haruto makes an attempt to get in touch with Sophia, Kenji asks him to stay away. ‘You did harm to my daughter, Kenji says to Haruto. She gave you her most prized possession. You poisoned her pure love. I know you didn’t want to but you did. You had the key to her heart right here in your two hands. But you let her have it back. So she locked her heart and threw the key far, far away. This is not a problem. You can go that far if you want to. I believe you want to. What bothers me is that the key to your own heart still belongs to Kamoto. I need you to come to me and Sophia as a free man’.

That's what I wrote today (more to come):

Haruto talks to Yui and finds out that she wants a divorce but is afraid of her father’s anger. Kamoto sees their mariage as a deal that he would not break. However, Haruto goes to him and says that both he and Yui want a divorce. After a short quarrel, he leaves. Kamoto orders two of his men to follow Haruto and do ‘anything’ to make him change his mind. Haruto ends up injured after the men beat him. He somehow makes it back home. When Yui sees his bruises and the stains of blood on his clothes, she immediately goes to Kamoto. Yui has been surpressing anger and resentment towards her father ever since her mother’s suspicious death but now it is all released. She confronts him for having treated her and Haruto as his belongings for years.
