CELINE MARIE Posted May 24, 2013 at 01:35 PM Posted May 24, 2013 at 01:35 PM Another news today advanced by the Journal de Montreal on Celine Dion is its dual role in the film The Muppets ... Again whose world premiere is scheduled for March 21, 2014. It is a sequel to the 2011 Disney film, The Muppets, known in Portugal as The Muppets. Celine Dion sing the song of the film, Something So Right, a document written by Bret McKenzie. This last year won the Oscar for Best Original Song for the main song of the first Muppets movie. Besides the song, Celine will have a small role in the film: "They are only 5 lines. It's a small stake. There are two or three other artists who also participate, one will be Usher "said René Angélil. 2 Quote
BLM Posted May 24, 2013 at 01:44 PM Posted May 24, 2013 at 01:44 PM (Bing translator) Céline Dion may be seen on the big screen next year, in the company of... Muppets! The singer will participate in filming, on 28 may, to Hollywood, to a small cameo on the set of the film The Muppets... Again!. In the feature film, Céline Dion will appear in fairy-godmother and she will sing the original play Something So Right, written by Bret McKenzie. The latter won the Oscar for best original song, last year, for the first film of the Muppets. "Celine has about five lines in the film, said René Angélil. It is a small cameo. There are two or three other artists who will be there, including Usher." http://www.journaldemontreal.com/2013/05/23/deux-heures-de-succes-pour-ses-fans 1 Quote
chocolatechip15 Posted May 24, 2013 at 01:56 PM Posted May 24, 2013 at 01:56 PM Celine is going to have a cameo in the new Muppets movie, to be released March 2014. She'll have about 5 lines, and will sing an original song, called "Something So Right." Rene explains it to the Journal of Montreal here: (it's the second article on the page; the first article on the page has spoilers for the Plaines concert tracklisting) http://www.journaldemontreal.com/2013/05/23/deux-heures-de-succes-pour-ses-fans I love the Muppets! Celine Fan 77 Posted May 24, 2013 at 10:40 PM Posted May 24, 2013 at 10:40 PM I've got the feeling that this song 'Something So Right' is going to sound as cheesy as 'Happy To Meet You'... 1 Quote Tournée Européenne in Paris (December 1, 2013)Céline Dion Live 2016 in Antwerp (June 20, 2016)Céline Dion Live 2017 in Birmingham (July 27, 2017)
LuisMa Posted May 24, 2013 at 10:46 PM Posted May 24, 2013 at 10:46 PM (edited) I've got the feeling that this song 'Something So Right' is going to sound as cheesy as 'Happy To Meet You'... Let's hope not! The difference could be in that Elmopalooza was a TV special with a soundtrack album from some of the participants with the characters from Sesame Street. Now this is a theatrical release, so the song could have been written based on the movie events or even without having any direct connection to the movie plot (just selected because it could go well with it) and may not have a children's theme or the Muppets may not appear in the song. chocolatechip15 Posted May 24, 2013 at 11:38 PM Posted May 24, 2013 at 11:38 PM I thought Celine was adorable in Happy to Meet You -- but that's a song/show directed to preschoolers. I think the Muppets is for an age group that's a bit older. I'm hoping for a song more like The Rainbow Connection (classic Muppets; cheesy perhaps, but still lovely.) . . Actually, now I really want to hear Celine sing The Rainbow Connection! Quote

J-Man Posted May 25, 2013 at 09:56 AM Posted May 25, 2013 at 09:56 AM (edited) This is such good news, I love the muppets! Happy to meet you was a sweet song for a Sesame Street audience. Very different age group. Hopefully the song will just stay on that soundtrack though. It'll be nice to see her on the big screen. As people have said it's a cameo (probably as herself) Don't start complaining about it already! Edited May 25, 2013 at 09:59 AM by J-Man Quote http://www.powerofthemusic.com/other/FORUMSIG1.png
LuisMa Posted May 25, 2013 at 10:01 AM Posted May 25, 2013 at 10:01 AM I'm going to look for the soundtrack for the 2011 Muppets movie, as I never listened to it, to see what we can expect from Bret McKenzie this time around. I hope the song is gorgeous and Celine shines in it. Quote
QueenCeline87 Posted May 25, 2013 at 08:19 PM Author Posted May 25, 2013 at 08:19 PM It's not really her first movie role because its a cameo , it's Celine being Celine as far as I know. But it's a start :-)I can't wait I'm a muppets show kid and I love kermit:-) Actually you think Celine's love of frogs will be bought into it? smw Posted May 25, 2013 at 11:40 PM Posted May 25, 2013 at 11:40 PM This is great news! It seems Celine and Rene are wanting the movie-theme-singing-Diva to reclaim her crown. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out. I can imagine that it will be nominated for an Academy award -- but that ceremony is held in February and the movie won't be released until March of 2014? Also, I wonder if this will appear on WAAF/affect the release date. (Doubt it, but who knows.) 1 Quote

Yes, but Happy to Meet You is from a Sesame Street segment designed to help 3-year-olds get over being shy. It shouldn't have had complicated lyrics - the intended audience was very small children!
