Automatic translators from the internet are bizarre and don't accurately portray what is meant. Thanks! 2 Quote

Don't want to feel rude asking Kev x I'm not fluent in French, but these are some things I got from the article: (please correct me if I'm mistranslating!) - JJG wanted to work with Celine; it's the only time he's asked someone to work with him- JJG always wanted to do a whole album with Celine; initially Rene and Celine only wanted him to do one or two songs. In order to change their mind, he did tons of research on Celine (all her old interviews, etc) -- I think so that he could write songs that fit her perfectly- When he played the songs for them the first time, he turned around and was surprised to find both Celine and Rene in tears b/c they were so moved by the song; I think it was PQTME (Celine tells this same story in "My Story, My Dream")- JJG understand how important Rene was to Celine - both to her career, and to her life as a woman. He says something like people often think of Rene as a formidable (or "to-be-feared") businessman who's more or less American - but he's really more Mediterranean, in that he's more of an artist; he was a singer himself; he's the type of person who, after thousands of concerts, will still be in the room each time, shedding a tear. - He talks about how he had worked with Celine to correct things -- when she rolled her r's too much and if she used American-type vocalizations. Celine, being very disciplined, accepted this. - He talks about how Celine is very simple, and how all the grand things she's experienced haven't changed her - she's still the same girl she was when she was 12, sharing a house with all those brothers and sisters. He says she's a girl of values, and fundamentally, she's still the little girl of the house where she grew up. (or something like that; I think he was getting a little poetic there, which is hard to translate/understand when you're not fluent!)- They say that like a father who lets his daughter leave the nest, JJG has said he won't work with Celine anymore, simply because he doesn't have more ideas. And he is sure that she will sing forever, because it's her life, her oxygen (haha, Celine's been saying for many years that she *used* to say that singing is her life, but that's not true anymore - JJG should listen to a recent interview, LOL). He also says something like - if she had to sing jazz songs in a pizzeria for the rest of her days, she'd be the happiest woman in the world (I think I'm missing something there!)- They quote Celine as saying that working with JJG isn't work - it's a grand love story. And I think she says she'd like to do something new with him. 11 Quote
