To me her career here started with TPOL in 1993. This is when Europe really discovered Celine. Edited May 12, 2016 at 04:42 PM by LukeD 1 Quote

Modesta Posted May 12, 2016 at 09:02 PM Posted May 12, 2016 at 09:02 PM I dare say that not many in Finland had heard about Celine before TPOL,.. OOR was the song that I first heard from her her, never cared for TPOL that I heard next. My friends, 12 or 13 yrs old at the time... They didn't care for her at all It wasn't untill MHWGO when she became known and loved among the teenagers. And to tell you the truth... Most of them ignored her after MGWGO. It's been lonely in Finland, being a Celine fan 2 Quote
LukeD Posted May 13, 2016 at 03:24 AM Posted May 13, 2016 at 03:24 AM (edited) It's been lonely in Finland, being a Celine fan Never mind. Do what the average Celine fan does: play her music out loud, pressure friends and family to listen to her songs and always remind everyone of how much she sold. manilou Posted May 14, 2016 at 09:37 AM Posted May 14, 2016 at 09:37 AM Wouldn't it be awesome to have Céline sing her new English single as an interval next year? They invited Justin this year who has no connection at all to ESC. Céline would actually make sense! 2 Quote http://s03.flagcounter.com/count/idbH/bg=FFFFFF/txt=000000/border=CCCCCC/columns=6/maxflags=248/viewers=3/labels=0/.jpg

Daysleeper Posted April 30, 2018 at 08:27 PM Posted April 30, 2018 at 08:27 PM It's been exactly 30 years since Céline won Eurovision Song Contest. 30 years since I heard that magic voice for the first time. Happy Anniversary 4 Quote
Davey84 Posted May 1, 2018 at 02:01 PM Posted May 1, 2018 at 02:01 PM (edited) I can't believe it's been 30 years!! And I can't believe that Céline's team didn't post anything about it yesterday I made a post about this song, also based on an interview with Atilla Şereftuğ, the composer of the song (found by J-man). In this interview of 2013, he tells how the song came about and what Céline's part in all of it was. Did you know for instance that the song was written especially for her?? and how many takes it took Céline to record it? Could it be that they only post when Céline tells them? if so, then Céline seriously needs to step up her game. And yeah I realize she's on sick leave now. But her social media and her team has sucked for a LONG time now. 1 Quote
Peppercorn1991 Posted May 1, 2018 at 02:49 PM Posted May 1, 2018 at 02:49 PM I think Celines team must be off too right now. This must be the longest break for celine without being on hiatus Kev x 1 Quote

Where do they think social media is for these days? In fact, Celine never post a anniversary of his career on his facebook, Celine has not a nostalgic person. Celine never liked this song, depiste the song winning the Eurovision contest. And the song has not a huge success in Europe (his first hit in Europe has been Beauty and the Beast), sold less than the others winners contest (only 300 000 copies in Europe) Quote

This is about strategy and keeping an artist visible. And yes, those rare times an iconic moment or relevant albums turns, 30, 20 or 10 years, these are the moment you use on social media in 2018 for different exposure. 2 Quote
