I think they should be releasing a DVD of the Paris shows rather than Quebec. If you watch the official footage on the previous page, you can hear Celine's raw vocals - this footage is completely unedited from the show, and she sounds absolutely amazing. Her voice is clear, strong, and most importantly - in tune.

 

The Quebec show was actually quite weak vocally, she struggled on a lot the high notes and went off key in many places. This resulted in the final TV broadcast being heavily auto-tuned, making it sound just as bad at the TCWT CD/DVD.

 

Although the Paris shows don't include songs such as JNPBD, LAEE, Incognito & Plamondon medley, the new songs for Paris mean that 1F4T, ONCP and D'elles are finally represented, and we have the beautiful Ziggy as well as the amazing RM. Obviously, the best idea would be to release a DVD/CD of Paris and then include the additional Quebec songs as bonus material on the DVD.

I really want the Live À Quebec on DVD because I never saw it because I didn't want to ruin my Paris surprises, and it was soo worth it. Now I can watch it, but I'll wait a bit to see if I can discover it first on HQ.

 

But I really want to have the Paris concerts in DVD to relive the experience again and again! (and not to have my smiles in vain as the camera passed us by )

But since they already had the show on paytv, i do not see it happen. There will not be a dvd of this tour i am afraid. It will indeed be the autotuned quebec concert that we will have on dvd. I rather have one of the bercy concerts on dvd. But do not think we will have that on dvd. I think chances are almost zero. Unfortunately...

And also, there's the residual "yeah yeah" at the end of the Dec. 1 video. It would be great if anyone has videos of LMBTL from the Dec. 5 concert just so that we can be sure. You can also tell this is live because she's still having pitching issues on the chorus, even in the original key. She would never use a playback that contained bad notes like that, they would have made sure she sung in tune when they recorded it.

Thanks for your feedback but I'd like to hear a second opinion. I didn't get the idea of a playback by playing them side by side. I played them exactly on top of one another. Even for a singer with Celine's caliber and undoubted technical ability, it does seem uncanny that the notes start and end the same way; that she drags the last notes at exactly the same timing and pitch (e.g. "the wait is oveeeeeeeeeeeeeer"); and even in the small details such as the "I I I... I I I I..." part in the beginning, it just seems weird that there's no variation in the way in which it was sung. I'll take another listen though and hope that I'm wrong.

I did notice the difference in the final "we're lovers again". What about the possibility of a partial playback? Most of the song just sounds too similar for both performances to be live.

Okay, I can finally say... thanks for proving me wrong. It seems that she's just too perfect at the moment. The Dec. 1 performance has slightly more attack in my opinion, which is noticeable when she starts the bridge. The pitch was better on that performance too. She was slightly flat, but only very little (barely noticeable) on the choruses during the Dec. 4 performance. Thank God for my neutral dual-driver balanced armature in-ear monitors. Disproving my initial hypothesis was kind of stressful

That WAAF performance from the 4th is absolutely amazing. Pure technical precision in the belts and powerful - her time and voice is beautiful. She gets better !

I initially suspected playback as well when they changed the key back to original but the ending has been substantially different in those three performances. One of them she did it in one breath "give up on meeee" and the other was a breath before the high note like she usually does. The head notes have been different as well.

On night 2 in Paris "La mer et l'enfant" was before "Celle qui m'a tout appris." It didn't change places.

However, on night 2 she did give a spoken introduction to "WDMHBN" as she did not on the first night.
