We gave our all for a dream and we almost died while trying. For a long time we tried to contact you in an ordinary way, but then we discovered that there was nothing such as an "ordinary" way to get to you. So we had to invent one. We didn't have any contacts in the industry at that time, and for better or worse we had decided that our time was better spent making music and writing the best possible songs. We believed in our songs, we believed in the artist and the person you are and we believed that the songs were for you. That was our strength. And that conviction led us to discover a crack in a back door, so we slipped through it and we finally managed to get to you. It was like trying to climb the Everest, but without help and without oxygen. And the price we had to pay for this daring was immense. Dramatic as it may seem, we invested all of our money. People wouldn't believe me if I say the figure here, so I won't. We went to Las Vegas to gamble, that's for sure. But we didn't set foot in any casinos. Instead, we risked it all for a dream. It was pretty obvious that we were nobodies trying to be somebodies, and when you received us you seemed to read the drama in our faces. You didn't have to, but you said while looking into our eyes that you would listen to the songs and reply. We gave our all for a dream and with your words you made the impossible possible. Thank you and God Bless you for that, Celine Dion. Now it's nine months since that moment and we are living this waiting with worrying. A lot is going on in your life, we are perfectly aware of that, and we were in front of you for a mere sixty seconds, which must be like absolutely nothing in your life after all. But we did what we did when we had to do it because we wanted to give the songs the opportunity to be "there" before the release of your English album. So we still believe that this circle is not yet closed. We have tried to contact your camp again but of course it has been impossible. Now we have a seven months old baby girl and we can't afford the luxury of inventing another way to get to you out of nothing. So after a lot of thinking we came up with a slightly extreme idea. It is certainly dramatical for me to make public an "unfinished" (demo) song before its time, and maybe with this gesture I take the risk to make things worse, but we really think that we have exhausted all other options, otherwise we wouldn't do it. So I will leave here for a while a link to one of the songs we gave you with the hope that someone with access to you reads this message, or listens to the song and finds it "worthy" of you. Anyway, whatever the end of this story will be, as the fan I have always been since I was almost a child, I wish you from the bottom of my heart the very best of luck in your life and in all of your future projects. Really nice arrangement too, I particularly like the piano intro - I've always wanted Celine to have a similar arrangement. All the violins in the song (and there are a few overdubs...) were recorded by my wife one month before Vegas, once we knew we were meeting Celine. She was five months pregnant at the time and it was a very beautiful recording session that lasted all day (and part of the following night). My baby girl is a reaally active baby, and every time we play this she suddenly stops and listens to the whole thing. It is pretty funny indeed... She kindly accepted our CD and thanked us for it, and then she said that she would listen to the songs and reply. In fact, to be more specific, she said that she would reply even if her answer was negative because in that event she would recommend us someone else to give our songs to. I guess it was pretty obvious for her that we approached her the way we did because we didn't have contacts in the industry... So she hasn't replied yet (I guess this is what you meant, actually), so in a way she hasn't accepted the songs but at the same time she hasn't rejected them, and that's precisely the purpose of this topic. We're in the middle of nowhere and that is always the worst situation one can ever be. Some would say that after nine months we should forget about a reply, but we still trust the kind of professional she is. I rather prefer to think that something has happened; maybe she has forgotten about us, or maybe she hasn't accepted the songs but she forgot that she said that she would reply... or whatever. Once said that, if we don't have a reply in the next few months we'll have to accept the fact that perhaps we'll never have it, so we won't have any choice but to close this chapter as best as we can.
