Bell Posted March 20, 2013 at 06:24 AM Posted March 20, 2013 at 06:24 AM She didn't write "Ce n’etait qu’un reve" her mother did and her brother composed it.I've heard that the 3 of them wrote the song - Jacques, Celine and their mother. It's the same case with 'Don’t Save It All For Christmas Day' and 'Treat Her Like A Lady' - Celine co-wrote these songs, she contributed more or less but didn't wrote them all by herself. I'm not sure about the others Matej mentioned. Quote 16 YEARS A FORUM MEMBER

Matej Posted March 20, 2013 at 12:10 PM Posted March 20, 2013 at 12:10 PM I'm inclined to you Bell. But one song up and down, it doesn't matter much. Maybe Celine co-wrote Ce n’etait qu’un reve in the form she changed some words and added a dot at the end, you know. And then with sparkle in the eyes she excitedly announced for her 14 brothers and 14 sisters that she wrote a brand new song. 1 Quote
candicat98 Posted March 20, 2013 at 01:40 PM Posted March 20, 2013 at 01:40 PM I just checked on the back of La Voix du Bon Dieu album and it gives credit to "Therese Dion/Celine Dion/Jacques Dion" for Ce n'etait qu'un reve. 1 Quote

And I think the same goes for others songs that she "co-wrote". She changes something here and there and gets some credits. 2 Quote
Ilaria Posted March 20, 2013 at 04:49 PM Posted March 20, 2013 at 04:49 PM Wouldn't it be amazing if she wrote new songs for her next French album? quaizee Posted March 20, 2013 at 08:05 PM Posted March 20, 2013 at 08:05 PM Did you know that Celine co-wrote “Entre deux mondes” with Frédérick Baron, a song recorded by Marc Dupré? This song is among the 10 most performed francophone songs in Quebec of 2011. As songwriter, Celine earned a SOCAN (Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada) Award during the 23rd Awards Gala, held in Montreal last Wednesday. Celine wrote the bridge of the song. The story is in "My Story, My Dream" (p. 48 of my copy). Here's an excerpt: "Actually, I thought I really had something, but I wasn't quite sure. Jacques was about to leave. I would have had to sing it out loud or have him play the melody on the piano. 'Let me try something . . .' I said, and hummed some notes. 'That's it, little one, you've got your bridge!' Jacques shouted. We were so excited that we went through the song, the words, the music over and over, half a dozen times. Jacques left late but happy." 1 Quote

mike_z Posted March 23, 2013 at 02:24 PM Posted March 23, 2013 at 02:24 PM "Entre Deux Mondes" should have recorded as a duet for SANS ATTENDRE. It would have been one of the best songs of the album. Single material!!!! 4 Quote
