tristan.josef Posted March 9, 2013 at 01:51 AM Author Posted March 9, 2013 at 01:51 AM hey all! sorry it took a few days to actually write, but i just barely got home from vegas and didn't have enough time til now to sit down and write this out! so i did go to all three shows so far this week - sunday, tuesday, & wednesday. (3/3, 3/5, & 3/6/13) I was fortunate enough to sit in the front three rows for all three shows, so i was able to get some audio that is pretty good! (or at least i think it is haha!) i just let my phone record the audio for all three shows in full, and it turned out pretty clear again! i will work on getting these up asap sometime this weekend...will take a bit to figure out how to trim them, etc. i will be sure to share them asap once they're ready in the meantime, thought id share a little bit of review on the performances i saw. i wont comment on every song and little detail all three nights, (Ill let you listen to the bootlegs yourself) but ill just comment on a few things that were different than normal or especially great. SUNDAY 3/3/13Overall a Fun show and i was thrilled to be back as i havent been since last summer. she looks fantastic. although you can tell she is aging, it agrees with her and she looks beautiful. the vegas gowns are still as impressive as day one. (at least to me) of the three shows, i think this night was the second best. overall didnt have too much out of the ordinary, but a solid show nonetheless. open arms is simple, but still so beautiful to me, and i love that she now consistently sings it smoothly but with her own little nuances. during BYLM when she asks the audience to sing the last phrase, a woman screamed with excitement. celine made a surprised face and smiled and said something to the effect of "we know she's ready" and everyone laughed. she was laughing with her backup singers about it immediately after, too. the audience was just standard this night, and unfortunately did not greet her with a standing ovation when the curtain first opens, but warmed up a little as the night went on. still standing Os during the show for power of love, ne me quitte pas and all by myself. mr. paganini is stellar. she is doing so many fun vocal riffs and adding so much more of her own flavor on it...this song has grown on me so much. it's so much fun to watch and listen to and you can tell she loves it. although we've heard the new english album will now be all new material, hopefully we will still be able to get a hold of the studio versions of some of the vegas recordings because songs like this would be great to listen to over and over. lullabye may be a slow, but i (and the audience seems to mostly agree) how beautiful and touching it is. the new video at the end of the segment with the twins and celine on the beach looking for crabs is precious and seems to get a good amount of "oohs and ahhs." i still love the james bond segment - i think it is so fun and the songs are sung beautifully. it always amuses me how much the audience gets into "spinning wheel." haha. HDYKTMP is still a hit among everyone - probably because of the novelty of her walking through the house. in my opinion, "overjoyed" doesnt get that exciting of a reaction and it's the only song a little difficult to fully immerse yourself into. people scream when she says "please welcome the great stevie wonder," but then looking around after that its not a highlight and probably would be looked over if not for the hologram novelty. barnev and celine sound great together on beauty and the beast. tears down both cheeks on NMQP...and i enjoy the drama involved with this performance. rolling in the deep is still loved by the crowd, and its fun to watch celine put her spin on it. although i enjoy the MJ three cellos & find them immensely talented, i feel it a little random without any explanation and people not maybe not knowing why it was there before. just my opinion, but the audience still seems to enjoy it. i liked celines fun riffs during LCMM and RDMH. all week celine was really working the stage for these final two songs and having a lot of fun - especially with the musicians onstage with her. solid performance. Tuesday 3/5/13for some reason, this night the show started out a little soft...and i mean volume wise. it wasnt hugely noticeable except to regulars, but her speaking and some of the opening song's vocals were a little quieter than normal. same for the opening video. greeted the moment the curtain opened with a standing ovation. (as it should be haha) the whole first segment of the show felt a little different to me. not as strong vocally as the other nights or just as smooth. she kept looking off stage left and making a lot of really intense faces during these first songs all through Power of Love. i dont know if she was having issues hearing or with her in ear monitors, but she kept adjusting them and her hair. again, these things are all pretty small, but i notice them lol. she sounded just slightly shaky for half a second of BYLM. still good, but just not the same as usual. also something different i noticed - normally elyse sings the backup vocals with celine during POL, but this show dawn did. not sure why that was as i dont recall seeing that before, and the next night elyse was doing it again. maybe just a switch up? paginini awesome again. other than that, show went smoothly and pretty standard up until NMQP. right before the song started, (she had already introduced it and the beginning piano notes were playing) she looked off stage left and mouthed something and made some signals with her hands...she made the sign that is normally used for "flashes" like when you open and close your fingers a few times, made a thumbs down sign, then more opening and closing of the fingers. it almost looked like she was telling someone offstage someone was taking flash pics or something, but if that was the case i hadnt noticed it at that point. just was odd since the song had already started and she was center stage with the mic waiting to begin. found that interesting. loved her LCMM and RDMH again. she kept making a lot of funny and sarcastic silly faces at the first few rows during river deep, too. MHWGO may be the millionth performance and i understand why many are tired of it, but the reaction it always gets upon the first few hums in the dark prove why its still (and will always be ha) in the show. fortunately, it is a good visual performance with the images and waterfall and dramatic platform raising. WED 3/6/13in my opinion, this was the best show of all three nights! for lack of a better term, she was just "on." seemed especially happy this night, too and was extra smiley. although the opening monologue is a little old after two years, i must admit she still does a good job delivering it as it gets laughs in all the right places and theres clearly enough new audience each night to find it amusing and it gets a lot of laughs...also in part to the faces she makes to go along with it. she didnt mention anything this week about cancelling the shows last month. she also didnt throw in anything about it being the 10th anniversary month of the colosseum...maybe she will before she leaves this month?? would be cool. as weird as it sounds, she just seemed extra "confident" this night. not that she's not normally, but had an extra little bit of confidence in her posture and body language as she walked around during all the first segment. not too much out of the ordinary to report...just overall the show had an extra little boost of energy and felt very vibrant and alive. a few things though...i noticed an echo during the final runs section of the reason...dunno if they added more echo that night, i dont normally recognize it, some playback was being faded in at the wrong time or what...but for whatever reason i noticed it this night that there was a echo as she did the final uptempo portion. after NQMP all three nights she is very showy about wiping her tears and "collecting" herself...however the audience eats it up so i cant say i mind. it goes along with it and you cant deny she is making it a performance and going in for it 110%. i think the craziest thing of the night though is the very end of the show...right after she finished MHWGO and was thanking the audience and saying goodnight, a lady ran up the aisle to the bottom of the stage and stood on the bottom step with her hands and a gift outstretched to celine. the security guards on both sides LEAPT out of their seats and screamed at her but she had stopped there at the bottom of the stage. celine of course saw her, looked for a second at her and the security guards, then did something totally surprising to me...motioned for the girl to WALK UP! i couldnt believe that but the guards even made a little bit of a surprised face. so the girl did...she walked up the steps and all the way up to mesh grate that catches the waterfall where celine met her, took her gift, (looked like a bundle of CDs) and gave her a half hug before the lady walked back down and returned to her seat. i just found that incredibly forward of the girl to have the courage to do that, and even more surprised that celine motioned for her to walk up onstage and hand it to her while everyone in the audience just sat there and watched while they were applauding since the show was over. so bizarre! im sure celine had a moment of panic inside though as well as the guards for someone to literally rush the stage like that. yikes! i guess it just goes to show though how sweet celine is....just odd though. random note: since i was so close i each night, i could hear behind the curtain at the end of each show...every time the moment the curtain closed and the house lights came back on and people started to stand up, i could hear everyone backstage screaming and cheering. thought that was kind of cute, and would be interested to see back there what celine does to them when the curtain has closed. its immediately after so they must all cheer together! overall three great shows and i had a blast! hopefully i will be able to post the audios asap in the next day or two and you guys like them. let me know which is your favorite and what you think, and i hope this all helped paint an ok picture of what these shows were like! lemme know if any of you have any questions about these nights and id be happy to answer them 4 Quote

Kyle_Jared Posted March 9, 2013 at 04:03 AM Posted March 9, 2013 at 04:03 AM (edited) My mom and dad went to see Celine on Wed (March 6)...they (as I knew they would be--cause the show is incredible) LOVED IT. Totally impressed. They are celine fans (not as crazy as me) but just loved the show. Dad said Celine looked great, but looked a little tired. Other than that--they were blown away. WED 3/6/13in my opinion, this was the best show of all three nights! for lack of a better term, she was just "on." seemed especially happy this night, too and was extra smiley. although the opening monologue is a little old after two years, i must admit she still does a good job delivering it as it gets laughs in all the right places and theres clearly enough new audience each night to find it amusing and it gets a lot of laughs...also in part to the faces she makes to go along with it. she didnt mention anything this week about cancelling the shows last month. she also didnt throw in anything about it being the 10th anniversary month of the colosseum...maybe she will before she leaves this month?? would be cool. as weird as it sounds, she just seemed extra "confident" this night. not that she's not normally, but had an extra little bit of confidence in her posture and body language as she walked around during all the first segment. not too much out of the ordinary to report...just overall the show had an extra little boost of energy and felt very vibrant and alive. a few things though...i noticed an echo during the final runs section of the reason...dunno if they added more echo that night, i dont normally recognize it, some playback was being faded in at the wrong time or what...but for whatever reason i noticed it this night that there was a echo as she did the final uptempo portion. after NQMP all three nights she is very showy about wiping her tears and "collecting" herself...however the audience eats it up so i cant say i mind. it goes along with it and you cant deny she is making it a performance and going in for it 110%. i think the craziest thing of the night though is the very end of the show...right after she finished MHWGO and was thanking the audience and saying goodnight, a lady ran up the aisle to the bottom of the stage and stood on the bottom step with her hands and a gift outstretched to celine. the security guards on both sides LEAPT out of their seats and screamed at her but she had stopped there at the bottom of the stage. celine of course saw her, looked for a second at her and the security guards, then did something totally surprising to me...motioned for the girl to WALK UP! i couldnt believe that but the guards even made a little bit of a surprised face. so the girl did...she walked up the steps and all the way up to mesh grate that catches the waterfall where celine met her, took her gift, (looked like a bundle of CDs) and gave her a half hug before the lady walked back down and returned to her seat. i just found that incredibly forward of the girl to have the courage to do that, and even more surprised that celine motioned for her to walk up onstage and hand it to her while everyone in the audience just sat there and watched while they were applauding since the show was over. so bizarre! im sure celine had a moment of panic inside though as well as the guards for someone to literally rush the stage like that. yikes! i guess it just goes to show though how sweet celine is....just odd though. random note: since i was so close i each night, i could hear behind the curtain at the end of each show...every time the moment the curtain closed and the house lights came back on and people started to stand up, i could hear everyone backstage screaming and cheering. thought that was kind of cute, and would be interested to see back there what celine does to them when the curtain has closed. its immediately after so they must all cheer together! overall three great shows and i had a blast! hopefully i will be able to post the audios asap in the next day or two and you guys like them. let me know which is your favorite and what you think, and i hope this all helped paint an ok picture of what these shows were like! lemme know if any of you have any questions about these nights and id be happy to answer them Thanks for the review! I agree with you about "Overjoyed" it is a part of the show that if it was dropped people wouldn't miss it. She works hard at trying to get the audience into it! It just doesn't (or didn't) get that much reaction! I guess it is bought and paid for though so...........She is good at "collecting" herself, if I may use your wording, at the end of NMQP. Still worth it though!I would go see her a hundred times over still. Quote I have had the time of my life following this woman! Much love.
celinefanonline Posted March 9, 2013 at 06:18 AM Posted March 9, 2013 at 06:18 AM cool review!!!btw for the 3rd after MHWGO the girl gonna give gift to Celine that's what i'm gonna do though what do u think??? should i do it??should i just put up the gift and let celine see it? or should i do it like the girl did??? Timster Posted March 9, 2013 at 11:59 AM Posted March 9, 2013 at 11:59 AM I think Celine should be more like Shania and welcome fans onto the stage! I don't think Shania has done a single concert where she hasn't got a load of people up to talk to and sing with! Quote
Niko's Posted March 9, 2013 at 12:42 PM Posted March 9, 2013 at 12:42 PM Thank you so much Tristan. Great audio quality. I'm actually listening to the last bootleg. You can tell her voice is sometimes a little more unstable than usual (maybe 'cause of her recent illness), but stronger than ever. I hope she will be in top shape for her recordings later this month. Quote http://echo.levillage.org/220/images/3993.gif

Not the best idea LOL ahh agreed i wonder if she got in trouble! think too for celine that could be scary for a half a second...i mean yes its probably just a dedicated fan but that can be scary having someone do something like that! sidenote: if one of you admins wants to change this thread subtitle to include that it now has 3 bootlegs for download it'd be appreciated Quote

lyn Posted March 10, 2013 at 11:39 PM Posted March 10, 2013 at 11:39 PM (edited) Aw thanks for the reviews!! I was actually there for the 5th and 6ths nights too.. the first night in row H, the second in 2ndMZN (OMG. was joining friends, but that's the furthest i sat from Celine and will never waste an opportunity like that again haha. I couldn't see a thing, and obviously missed out on the best show!!) But yes as you've mentioned the concerts were awesome, I was confused by her hand signs at NMQP too, guess it was just something to do with the sound again. I'd never seen the show before so my favourites were ABM and the Reason. Anyway all in all my only gripe with the show is that for a Celine show, and as a Celine fan, I'm strangely disconnected because of all the non-Celine songs I don't know how to get into Oh and yes I was very surprised by the girl giving the gift at the end! I was like really? I could've done that? Crap. I know way back when in the previous show it used to be okay. I was kind of miffed that for all that trouble it looked she was only giving Celine her own material though, haha. I'd have given Celine something she would've liked.
