forhugo Posted February 19, 2013 at 08:36 PM Posted February 19, 2013 at 08:36 PM Hello everyone, I am a musician (a songwriter in particular) from Spain and I've grown up listening to the music of Celine Dion. I've had the wonderful opportunity to meet her once and it was definitely a moment that I will never forget. For these and many other reasons, I carry her in my heart. Nice to say hello!Hugo. forhugo Posted February 21, 2013 at 01:14 PM Author Posted February 21, 2013 at 01:14 PM Thank you both. Well, as I said I am a songwriter. I had written two songs for Celine (three years in one sentence is not fair, but it is really a long story), so when they were finished and the demos recorded, -which was supposed to be the difficult part of the story, it came the very arduous task of getting them to her. Both songs are too special for me. One of them came to me just after the passing of my grandpa; he was the person who had instilled in me the love of music and the song is so special that every time I sat on the piano to work on it it moved me on tears. And the other one has a quite a story behind that I wouldn't know where to start... If she sings them I promise that someday I'll back and share the story with you. The only thing I can say about our encounter with Celine is that it was fleeting, intense, moving and the moment she looked into my eyes and said that she would listen to the songs and reply, time stopped for me. That's all I needed. I can say, without fear of error, that she is really focused and centered. She talks looking straight into your eyes and there is not a bit of bullshit in the words she says to you. She was kind with us and really listened to what we had to say to her. I crossed half the globe to give the songs personally to her because, first of all they were for her, and because I deeply felt that she is the only singer in the world who has enough credibility (and talent) as to sing them. Once said that, I wouldn't have risked as much as I did for any other person/singer/musician/whatever in the world. I'm sorry I can't give too many details, I hope you understand my position. Kind regards,Hugo. 4 Quote "We hardly need to use our ears..." (R. Taylor)

Jeff Abbott Posted March 5, 2013 at 05:30 PM Posted March 5, 2013 at 05:30 PM (edited) Hi Jeff, I know... I wish you all who dream of meeting her the very best of luck. Cheers,H.Hi Hugo, One day it might happen, hopefully. If so, I don't know if I'd be able to say a single word to her, though I'd still try to explain how much she changed my life (at least this one thing). I gotta admit your story is really captivating and you've just "activated" my imagination. I wish we got to listen to these songs someday, we'd be soooo proud of you. By the way, I know Celine is a very approachable person, but were you a bit starstruck while standing right in front of her? What are your other impressions from that brief meeting? Take care, Dave (actually, that's my real name) Edited March 5, 2013 at 05:32 PM by Jeff Abbott Quote
forhugo Posted March 9, 2013 at 01:54 AM Author Posted March 9, 2013 at 01:54 AM (edited) Hi Dave, I'm sorry I couldn't back to you earlier. I could definitely observe a lot of things from our meeting! For instance, the atmosphere there changed the very moment that she stepped into the room, that's for sure. There's something coming from her that invites you to feel a total respect for her, whether or not you know who she is, I guess. I had the impression that she has a strong personality and I am totally sure that she is extremely professional. I dare not say that she is "approachable", but definitely kind and attentive. A particular sign of intelligence is that you don't have to tell her things twice. And after the meeting we stayed for the show and God knows that she definitely knows how to sing, so... Regarding our songs she said that she would listen and reply, and I'm certainly hoping and praying she does. I don't want to be arrogant but the songs are truly special and are made for her and for her only. Off the record, Las Vegas was the last place on Earth I would have visited, but... I have to say that The Colosseum is a hell of a theater (and I've been to a few) and the sound there is great (I honestly didn't expect a sound as good). And, by the way, after the show I had the chance to greet Rob Prinz, -Celine's long time agent, who was sat in the audience. Such a nice guy! I hope that helped.H.
