Celine's Las Vegas Shows Cancelled Through February 22nd

CELINE PERFORMANCES AT THE COLOSSEUM AT CAESARS PALACE CANCELLED THROUGH FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 22

 

Performances Feb. 26 through Mar. 16 Will Proceed As Scheduled

 

LAS VEGAS (Feb. 17, 2013) - We regret to inform you that Celine performances Tuesday, Feb. 19 through Friday, Feb. 22 at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace have been cancelled.

 

After recovering from the flu last week, Celine developed a secondary infection (sinusitis) which is being treated with antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medicine. Her doctor has instructed her to rest for a period of 7 consecutive days in order for her to fully recover.

 

Celine’s previously scheduled dates Feb. 26 through Mar. 16 will proceed as scheduled.

 

Those who purchased tickets with a credit card for the cancelled performances will be automatically refunded. Those who purchased tickets with cash may present tickets at the original point of sale for a refund. Ticket holders who purchased through Ticketmaster may call 1-877-4-CELINE (1-877-423-5463).

I flew while sick last year and I got the worst sinus infection. China did her in. Hope she got paid a lot. In the end, it'll be a wash with the Vegas cancellations. They'll be more than just 7 days.

I knew this was going to happen. I don't know why she agreed to go to China. Whenever Celine goes to places that have air polution, it effects her voice.

 

I just hope she gets better, but i really do wish she would be more carefull. It's not like she even needed to do that New Years concert. Celine should just stick with places that are good for her voice and put her voice first.

 

I am praying that this isn't going to turn into what happened last year and that it won't get serious. I know Celine has the best doctors out there, so hopfully this goes away in a weeks time.

I don't know why things like this happen ...

I rembember that in the Taking Chances Tour she was traveling to one country to other almost every week,

with different weather, and everything and she got sick only 2 times.

So why now she get sick everytime to travel only once??? :wtf: (Like Jamaica concert and China)

 

If things like this happen, I think the idea of do small tour with 30 concert like Rene said, not gonna happen. -_-

well if it keeps happening, it's going to affect ticket sales too. People do travel just to see her. I knew friends that left sunday to go down and see her this week. And now, 12000 people are told she cancelled....again. Imagine if i waited to go back this year after last february cancellation. I swear to god i'd never go again. After this, I probably will not travel to vegas again, it's too risky. And they have concert tickets for the summer just announced--not god.

I don't think it's something to catastrophize -- she got the flu during the height of flu season, in a year where there was pretty much a flu epidemic. She also has 3 little boys who are probably constantly bringing germs into the house. It would be weird if she *didn't* get sick sometimes. Celine's human - she's gotten sick before and she'll get sick again. And she traveled to Paris/Germany in the fall without any problems.

I'd would risk going to see her in the summer time when it's warm. I find it's the winter dates that are the risky ones as she always sick during that time.

I was affected last February and was so friggin livid (I know--I couldn't help it) I had to go in the summer. I flew all the hell from NS to see her. So we went in July and thank god she was ok. But, now that I finally saw her--I dunno (and it was worth it-the show was amazing). I don't think I'd go again, back to Vegas, it's too risky. If I did go, it would have to be a premiere or something, like the first or last show ever; somthing with a greater chance of happening.

 

But I so know how those poor fans must feel-I mean, A LOT of fans travel to vegas just to see her. It's so damn heartbreaking. I really hope she's able to go on next week. Two years in row with all of Feb/March shows cancel would be really bad press especially with new tickets on sale for the summer---could be a tough to sell.

 

I'm sure she'll be fine though.

No offense but your tone and opinion really changed from the post you put in the summer dates threads. Like night and day.

 

And the fact she cancelled this year and last year around this time is not surprising because a lot of areas weather and climates are changing and with the traveling she has done plus having kids its not all that surprising she is sick. Hopefully it will end after this week and not continue to plague her like it did last year after Jamaica.

Come on, tons of people get the flu in January/February... and Céline meets a lot of people when she's in Vegas or travelling.

Shaking tons of hands, kissing people/fans, etc. So she's even more at risk just because of that...

My only advice to Céline would be to avoid doing any shows in January and February. Period.

She my have. You can still get the flu even with the vaccine. It's usually a less severe case.

Flu shots do not prevent the every strand of the flu though, and there was a large problem this year with the flu. People were getting it even though they did get the shot and even if she did get it in November or so that is not gonna make a difference.

Nope even if you get it early you can still get the flu.
