Matej Posted February 16, 2013 at 06:52 PM Posted February 16, 2013 at 06:52 PM Carly Rae is a Canadian recording artist, singer, songwriter from British Columbia, who finished third in the fifth season of Canadian Idol. In 2008 she independently released her debut album "Tug Of War" including the album's lead single, a cover of John Denver's song "Sunshine on My Shoulders" as well as spawned two Canadian Hot 100 singles "Tug Of War" and "Bucket". Three years later, in September 2011, she released a smash hit "Call Me Maybe", the lead single from her 2012 extended play "Curiosity", which attained wide international success: number one in Australia, Canada, France, Ireland, United Kingdom, United States, among other countries. "Kiss" is her second studio album released on September 2012 and became her first internationally released album with positive reception from music critics. Carly Rae received multiple awards, such as American Music Awards, Billboard Music Awards, MTV Europe Music Awards, Much Music Video Awards, Teen Choice Awards and was nominated for Grammy or Juno. Guys, what do you think about her rising career, music, about her specific voice? Quote

Bell Posted February 28, 2013 at 07:19 PM Posted February 28, 2013 at 07:19 PM I'm not very familiar with her work. Maybe I'm wrong but she looks to me like some kind of a Britney Spears wannabe. I've only heard a couple of her songs but at first her music style made me think she's a teenager, then I found out she's older than me. I mean, the songs she sings (and her image maybe) don't actually fit her age. But it's just my opinion. Quote 16 YEARS A FORUM MEMBER
Matej Posted March 1, 2013 at 07:49 AM Author Posted March 1, 2013 at 07:49 AM Oh Bell, finally someone other than me here. Carly is so cute. Yes, she looks so young though in fact she is 27. The songs from her debut indie album "Tug Of War" sounds better before she turned to teenage pop and became a popular outside Canada. I think the same with you that the latest songs don't fit her age, but generally her music is a nice change for me. I'm thrilled. 1 Quote

Bell Posted March 5, 2013 at 06:15 AM Posted March 5, 2013 at 06:15 AM I'm listening to it now - this is good music, not the songs she makes now. Quote 16 YEARS A FORUM MEMBER

LuisMa Posted April 21, 2013 at 09:53 PM Posted April 21, 2013 at 09:53 PM The music video for Carly's new single is finally here! I wonder if she'll ever get a big hit on her own as she's talented. This third single is not really as instant as CMM, but it's a cute track. I listened to the whole album the other day and there's nothing as infectious. I hope her next release is well-received.
