I'm wondering if La Memoire D'abraham a suitable song for a funeral? I know that it's a sad song, but I don't know what it means. I am sending a loved one to heaven in a few days and I would like this song played. Could any of your guys help me? Thanks,Edd Quote http://thelavalizard.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/celine-dion-quebec-thelavalizard.pngYou Loved Me Back To Life, Life!

CaesarCeline Posted February 18, 2013 at 09:16 PM Posted February 18, 2013 at 09:16 PM It's perfect. I don't have time to do the translation but the lyrics are very somber and reflective Quote J'ai besoin de tes yeux, c'est le miroir ou j'existe, sans eux je ne me vois pasRegarde-moi http://img.noiset.com/images/artist/celine-dion-disc-5017.jpeg

guyddavies Posted February 18, 2013 at 11:59 PM Posted February 18, 2013 at 11:59 PM the only other songs that spring to mind as suitable for a funeral are fly/vole for obvious reasons, when someone very close to me died i went through all the songs i could think of, celine whitney everyone, but the two i picked werent actually celine even though shes my fave singer, i debated if to use fly, but i went with bette midlers wind beneath my wings, as the person had helped me get to where i was in life, i toyed with whitneys you were loved, if you dont know it the lyrics are perfect, but the song i settled on was there youll be by faith hill, incidentally written for celine. other obvious choices are my heart will go on, and because you loved me was written for dianne warrens dad who had passed away. sorry for your loss though, i lost my dad last year so i know how hard it is, which reminds me of another two perfect songs by celine that make me tear up when i hear them, smile from the oscars, and lullaby. oh and this song ill post the link i remember after my dad died i saw an episode of ER where mark greene died, and the scene at the end had a song playing and even now when i hear it it makes me break down, but its uplifting and sad at the same time, even though its not celine. sorry if ive gone on a bit just was in the same situation myself last year and went through the same thoughts so thought id offer some suggestions guy x Quote
Yangedd Posted February 19, 2013 at 02:48 PM Author Posted February 19, 2013 at 02:48 PM Thanks guys. It was a very fitting song. I held back tears even though I wanted to break down during the service. It was a beautiful send off. Thank you so much again. 1 Quote http://thelavalizard.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/celine-dion-quebec-thelavalizard.pngYou Loved Me Back To Life, Life!
