LuisMa Posted December 23, 2012 at 04:15 PM Posted December 23, 2012 at 04:15 PM Thank you for the interview, what an interesting read! I have always wanted to be a famous songwriter, that's one of my passions. I love "Stay", I'd love to hear Celine sing it! And the question about whether he liked the final cut of the video they made for his song was very smart. Congrats for the fine exclusive interview!!! Quote
Davey84 Posted December 23, 2012 at 04:40 PM Posted December 23, 2012 at 04:40 PM I would have never expected in a million years this origine of Fais Ce Que Tu Voudras!! Another unreleased gem, that is just sitting there waiting for us!! I feel very honoured René Grignon wanted to tell his story to John and me! 1 Quote http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v75/daveyh84/incognito198701_zpsaaootxh1.jpgRick, ik hou van jou voor altijd!A New Day... has come 28/29 April & 2/3 May 07Antwerpen 13 et 14 mai,Paris 24 et 25 mai, Amsterdam 2 juinet Arras 7 juillet Chances Taken!!!How Do You Keep The Music Playing? - Celine Opening Night March 15th, March 16th

Javito Posted December 23, 2012 at 06:06 PM Posted December 23, 2012 at 06:06 PM (edited) Thank you guys, what a fantastic job! Well done I've read the full interview paying a lot of attention to what this man had to say about the early years of Céline's career and how it was to be with her and René in the recording studio But my favourite part was the story about that copyright song stealing. Having studied a postgrade in Intellectual Property (Copyright), I followed those lines with the utmost interest. I'm happy to know this man got back integrally what belonged to him and his reputation as a creator, what a cheeky that Roussell! And about the english version of the song... so here we have another one to add to the list. And its getting long now! Wish he had told you he had plans to release it Edited December 23, 2012 at 06:20 PM by Javito Quote "Hush, now... I see a light in the sky"
TiagoFragoso05 Posted December 23, 2012 at 06:15 PM Posted December 23, 2012 at 06:15 PM Thank you so so much !! I felt his story, and it's a long and very interesting read.. I don't even have words to express how I fell now.. How can a man do what he did... ? He stole the song.. Anyway. NOW I WANT SO BAD to listen to the English version and the demos.. I know it's something almost impossible.... thank you once again for sharing this with us. I'm speechless.. Alex_Incognito Posted December 23, 2012 at 08:17 PM Posted December 23, 2012 at 08:17 PM ABSOLUTELY fascinating. Fais ce que tu voudras remains one of my very favorites from Celine. The song and the video. Her work back then really had a magical quality. Quote "People pay 20-25 dollars to see you."- Céline Dion, 1990

Daysleeper Posted December 23, 2012 at 10:40 PM Posted December 23, 2012 at 10:40 PM Thank you for this amazing and interesting interview. "Fais ce que tu voudras" is actually one of my favorites Céline's songs. I'm glad to know more about it. I only hope we will hear the english version one day. As the song was written and recorded originally in english, does this mean it was intended to be released on Céline's first english album? ...I also wish Céline speaks a little bit more about her songs and her career like this. Every song has it's own story behind. Quote

chocolatechip15 Posted December 24, 2012 at 03:58 AM Posted December 24, 2012 at 03:58 AM And for those interested in the copyright law aspect of this interview, there's an English version of the court's decision available here: http://decisions.fct-cf.gc.ca/en/1991/t-1283-88_38261/t-1283-88.pdf Very interesting stuff . .the court's decision mentions a few times that the song was originally intended for Celine, and that Rene's assistant received the cassette . . interesting!
