LuisMa Posted December 21, 2012 at 12:59 PM Posted December 21, 2012 at 12:59 PM (edited) I like your voice, it has a nice tone. There were a couple of bum notes, and some phrasing was not perfect, but I think you did a pretty good job. I believe the song has too many highs and it's a difficult song to sing. I'd love to listen to another song that doesn't have a bombastic chorus; with your beautiful tone, I have no doubt it will be great. Keep it up. Edited December 21, 2012 at 01:05 PM by LuisMa Quote
Jeffieboi Posted December 24, 2012 at 12:54 AM Posted December 24, 2012 at 12:54 AM (edited) I have a mixed reaction, but it's like 90% good. First of all... Look at his picture and how hot he is! That's a huge plus! But now with regard to singing... Your voice is incredibly pleasent. It's a VERY nice sound. It's the kind of sound that would put people in a better mood, simply because the voice itself is VERY good! Seems like you hit every note you were going for. That means there are probably higher notes you can sing, but we just didn't get to hear it in this recording. I guess that 10% negative I mentioned in the beginning....it's mainly about the recording quality. I'm talking about the quality of the devices recording the song. It sounds like your using equipment that's pretty expensive. because it sounds really crisp and clear...I just wish I could hear your voice on a machine that was as expensive as what Celine uses. The reason I say this, is that I think your voice can be used to make something incredible! My last thing I'm going to critique is your accent.... I remember years ago, you would always ask me questions about English. You say to me "do I say it like this, or do I say it like that?" (ETA) OMG! LOL, because that's like the lyrics of this song) I was so impressed by how important it was that you spoke English perfectly. Your passion has paid off. I think your English is really good! I'll admit, I can tell you're first language isn't English, but your English is MUCH better than most people who try to record an English song who didn't grow up with the language. It's actually a very small accent. I keep re-listening to this recording, and often times I see myself not hearing the accent. That's for two reasons. 1) The accent isn't very thick anyway.....very good pronounciation. 2) The voice is so good that I just don't care. So my suggestion is record this in a professional studio. Your voice is SO good! I can't even imagine how amazing this will sound in a studio like that. Keep making recordings, because someone in the business is bound to come across your videos and make you huge! ETA: Do you think you could try it with the key raised a step or 2? I totally think you could belt this in a higher key as well. Edited December 24, 2012 at 12:56 AM by Jeffieboi Quote
marckvls Posted December 25, 2012 at 01:45 PM Author Posted December 25, 2012 at 01:45 PM Hey guys!Thank you so much for all the coments, I appreciate that. Negative comments as well: I love some real criticism, coz they lead us to perfection, or at least being close to it.. Well, anyways.. Jeff, especially!WOW! I remember we used to talk so much.. was it on msn?Thank you for the advice. When I saw the word accent I felt kinda sad thinking you were gonna say it's still bad, but then I got this nice compliment! I'm so glad. Yes, I've been practicing, lol..And about the key, most people don't notice it, but it was already one or maybe half step higher. And yes, I believe it can still hit those notes if I raise it 2 steps, but would it sound good? not too high? I love discussing these voice things! Let's talk more! 1 Quote Love comes to those who believe it...

browseceline Posted December 28, 2012 at 11:36 AM Posted December 28, 2012 at 11:36 AM it is a studioversion but i think for a studioversion the backgroundmusic is way too soft and the mainvocal too loud. I am also missing reverb a lot. Some people say you should not use reverb too much and you should not be able to hear it, but in this case the vocal is too dry and it could benefit from reverb.Your voice is quite masculine and i think you did a good job overall and I did not hear many mistakes, it was good on tone. But try to think on which parts you would give more gas and which you wouldn't. Because now it is all on the same strength and volumelevel. You loose me a couple of times because of that.Esspecially in the refrain you need to give more strength imo.I realise this is a quite hard song to sing though and you did quite a good job that is for sure! 1 Quote <iframe width="640" height="390" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/hl2XkxnYljg" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe>
