Lucie Posted July 7, 2005 at 08:07 PM Posted July 7, 2005 at 08:07 PM (edited) basically, I just copied this from my journal, but anwyho, here is my experience. http://whenidance.org/CIMG1236.jpg So, I wore the same hot pink dress I wore last time. I have christened it the Celine dress and will wear it every time I go, because it is just so obnoxious, that maybe after a while Celi will be like "OH! It is the girl in the hot pink dress that always sits in the middle of the third row! Girlfriend, how have you been?!" I bought some new accessories at Gap when I went to pick up my ticket. I had originally wanted to go to Express, but the damn thing is being remodeled. Oh well. Yes, so I sat in the same seat I always sit in, row CC seat 405. There was an adorable girl two seats ahead of me, front row center, as always. She acted like she was at a church revival or something, waving her hands in the air and such. She must have met Celine or something, Celine kept winking at her and gave her the rose/hug at the end. It is my lifelong dream to be the adorable girl who sits front row center and gets the rose/hug. I have actually thought about how much I would have to blow in that damn casino to get those seats. On our last day (6/30), I was going to try to get front row tickets and stand in line and all that. But some idiot stole my credit card number and left me with no money. I know Salla was there then ... sorry I missed you sweetie! I chatted for a while with the guy sitting behind me, Franc. We had a delightful conversation about Celine's hair and plotted how to get into the two empty seats at the end of the front row (they came in late). He came all the way from Canada to see her. So, if you've seen it before, you know A New Day is like an out of body experience. I am not myself. I am in CelineStalker mode, which means I don't take my eyes off Celine for 90 minutes. I laugh to myself at little things that don't mean anything to anyone, like when she beats herself up or makes a funny face. I look like a freak, but I don't care. At least I don't mouth the words along with her, like Franc. THAT IS SO DAMN ANNOYING. It's even worse when people sing. I DID NOT PAY $214 TO HEAR YOU SING, MMKAY? Dance, have fun, do not sing. As you all know, she opens the show with A New Day Has Come now, which is nice. I personally like Nature Boy better, but it was a nice change. She looks amazing. Her hair is superlong like before she went on hiatus, and light brown, my natural color. Why does it look so much better on her?! She changed the little speeches a bit, because if she didn't, people would me mouthing those too. Geeze. Adorable girl in front this time was a little black girl who looked about my age. She was having so much fun, it killed me. I love people like that! I think she was annoying the people behind her, though. They were obviously not Celine fans. So, I started to panic after I Surrender, when she came out and sang Ammore. "I should have researched this better! Maybe she doesn't sing my song! Can people handle two foriegn songs in a row?! OH DAMN.....!@" But then she started out ... "This next song was the biggest song of my French career. It was written by Jean Jaques Goldman, a fantastic French artist. It's a very passionate song. It talks about loving someone so much that you would give up everything for that person's love in return. Most of us can relate to this. It's called, Pour que tu m'amies encore." (yes, I burned that impression into my soul.) So, all the Canadians and I yell, "MERCI CELINE!" Note to self: practice saying that before you go back so you don't sound like a dumb American who knows no French. Which is the truth, but you know. She said merci back and pointed at us and winked. And ... I am speechless. It brought back memories of being in the 8th grade and setting that song on repeat on my teal metallic CD player and listening to it all day long until I knew everysingleword. It has been my favorite song for 10 years now. Damn, it has been that long?! Anyways. It was magical. I cried. The end. Then we get to my favorite part of the show, when I look down at my watch and go, "WTF?! It's almost over!" But, it's my favorite part because everyone is clapping and dancing and having a good time. Which people should be doing the whole time, but they're stiffs. While I was gone, my local paper ran an article about Celine buying her new house and got all these facts wrong. My boyfriend's mom called me asking if it really was her last year and all that. I have trained her so well! We stayed at the Stratosphere. This is my 7th time seeing the show. jennyplym Posted July 8, 2005 at 03:22 PM Posted July 8, 2005 at 03:22 PM hey Lucie i was also at the show on the 26th, i remember the dress! i said to my friend on that night that it was a gr8 colour! lol how strange to see your post here! it was a gr8 show as always (i guess) i have only seen the show 2 times and the first was on the 24th of june for my birthday, it was sooo good i had to go and get tickets for the sunday too. you missed something sooooo funny on the friday night though, as celine was talking to the audience about (im not sure wot actually!)lol i was to excited to be really listening! three people in the front row actually got up in front of her face and walked out! and everyone was like WTF!!! and celine was in the middle of saying "and i bet your all wondering........" and she clocked them (pretty hard not to!) and pointed at them and said "hey i bet your all wondering where they are going!" and one of the girls looked like she was about to die with embarrassment! as the whole house exploded into laughter lol serves them right really! so n e way this lovely couple with a baby got to sit in there seats and of course they got the rose and celine hug and kissed them which was sooo kool. (note to self, take a baby next time!!) so n e way it was fab and well worth the flight all the way from England with the annoying child kicking my seat all the way! but hey, celine is worth it! jen Quote I Believe In You @>---;------

stevethefan Posted July 8, 2005 at 09:20 PM Posted July 8, 2005 at 09:20 PM Good review of the show. I like it when she sings some of the french english and (1) italian songs. When I saw the show in May there were some french cananadienfans in the audience and a few times in the show they were saying "I love you Celine" and some other nice things in French which is not suprising, I'm sure at every show. But what really embarassed me was either before or after one of the French songs when some of these fans was doing this there was this one woman who was sitting to the far left of me (an american like me) who LOUDLY shouted:"Hey we all don't understand french you know!" I cringed in my seat! I'm not sure if Celine heard it and luckily the woman was sitting in one of the far left of the stage seats so she was sort of far away. I'm sure because of the diversity of the crowds everynight that Celine hears plenty of things like that. As I think she said recently the crowds are not the typical fans that would go see in in concert. The Las Vegas crowds are a mixture of true fans (like us) and alot of tourists or convention people just wanting to see a show. Also you add alot of alcohol before and during the show and you get an interesting mix every night. I saw the show twice in May and one night I had sort of an embarassing moment myself. About halfway through the show I had to use the rest room and I had thought they were going to have an intermission. I was in the fifth row and I had to get up and discreetly walk back to the the lobby. I was not in the center section, so it was not TOO bad, but it felt strange! By the way, they actually have the sound from the show piped into the restrooms so you don't miss anything! One question if you've read this far. How do you always get the same seat at the show? Do they always have that seat? Quote
