I just heard this song, and oh boy! it is so sweet and yet so sad, even if you don't get the words, you can feel a certain melancholy, I made a rough translation, but it is about a woman who (I assume) lost her unborn child, and named her Lea---Does anybody knows the story behind it???

This is such a beutiful song. Even in the 30sec preview, her emotions are out there for everyone to see. After reading the lyrics, I cried - and I rarely cry because of a song. Just heartbreaking.

 

It must have been so difficult for her to record this

Thank you so much, I've been anticipating the translation of this particular song. It is... I'm just speechless... Celine sure had a hard time recording it since she herself had a miscarriage. As far as I remember, someone on the album topic mentioned that the authors of the song, a couple, lost an unborn child.

Yeah as far as I know, the mom wrote the lyrics, and Lea was a boy, not a girl, sorry about that,it seems that this little boy was born, but died short after, yes, I bet Celine had a hard time singing, it is such a sad song, and sung from the heart

I feel that even though tragic, losing a child is a memory that cannot be put aside. By singing about it, Celine can express the feelings she had at the time and I believe that parents who have gone through the same can relate to the song. Giving such beautiful words to a horrible experience could perhaps make it more bearable and just maybe the song might help the parents to deal with the loss?

I think they want to remember the child, not the loss.

I think itis more like a "tribute" a way of coping with a loss, to pay hommage to a little life, that even though hiser presence was short in this world, his legacy will live for everwith his mom and dad.

From what I remember, Marianne L'Heureux workes for Julie Snyder at Productions J (her husband does also). They tried having a child and Léa didn't make it when she was 5 months... They now have two kids, one that was just born on October 23rd, that's why she's still pregnant on the show.

The woman who wrote the song said that she struggled big time with the loss of her child and that writing her feelings and emotions helped her a lot. She sent the text to Céline (because she knows her from working at Productions J) but it was not her plan to have Céline record the song. At least that's what she said on the TV special.
