As you all know that Hurricane Sandy has damaged a few parts of the US and has killed a lot of people now the hurricane is heading for the state and city of New York.

In my mind I'am praying as much as i can

I have written a song called Fly Our Angels (Love Will Be Cherished)

Fly Our Angels

(Love Will Be Cherished) Song

Cry, Pray

I will pray for the love of our souls of our world

World is full of love and respect

Boys, girls, men, women are our angels

The hearts will be remembered.

Each death a dream is destroyed

Fly Our Angels

Fly The Seas, The Lands,

You are no longer in pain, But You will never be forgotten

Your Memory's and love will be cherished

We cannot live with out you but we can remember you

My Heart has stopped

Fly The Seas

Fly The Lands

Fly The Galaxy

Fly Our Angels (Love Will Be cherished)

The Pain will never leave but our hearts continue to remember.

Your souls are part of us

Fly Our Angels

We will cry, we will break, we will miss you.

A Soul has gone from this world

A World is gone but our hearts will be loved and missed

I Cry That Dreams have died

Cry's will run around the world

Stars will shine us

Fly Our Angels

The world will eventually heal but we cannot forget the pain

Our dear lost ones

The doors will never shut but the rainbow spirits will continue

I will cry and I will pray.

Tears will come, the love will heal and remember

You are no longer in pain, But You will never be forgotten.

Your Memory's and love will be cherished

We cannot live with out you but we can remember you

You will be the angels of this world

Fly Our Little Angels you will loved and cherished.

I've charged both my computers, my phone, my iPod, everything. If I'm stuck without power and no wifi, least I can watch movies on iTunes. :glare:

I've got so much Smartwater stocked up it's crazy, least 50 bottles. I'm gonna pick up pizza at Dominos - if the power shuts off, pizza is something you can eat without it having to be warmed up, so. For all you guys up north of me (NY, NJ, ect) how are you guys preparing? I'm trying to understand the reason for you guys to be evacuating. Where do you guys go? You can't go south, you'll get major traffic, flooding, and if you're going south you're obviously going to run back into the hurricane! I guess going north up to Maine would be a good bet because by the time the storm reaches there, it'll be much more manageable.

So, what are you guys doing? :flowers:

I'm in NY, about an hour outside Manhattan. They had to evacuate everyone who lives by the coastline in a "storm surge" zone, because the combination of the high tides and the pattern of the storm meant there was tremendous life-threatening flooding for anyone who stayed by the shore in those areas. Those people had to evacuate to nearby areas on higher ground - even just a few miles away - either staying with friends/family who lived a little further from the ocean/on higher ground, or they opened up public shelters for people who had no one to stay with.

It's crazy - lower Manhattan was basically underwater. So so scary. And the wind was crazy -- there are downed trees EVERYWHERE and tons of places are closed - most traffic lights out - everything is at a standstill. I am so lucky I have power.

I should say that I am from CT and Sandy hit the shoreline towns here pretty bad too. I am grateful to God I didn't lose power or flooding however I am sad for those that are going through this ordeal. No matter what they will make it through.

I live in Queens, NY just outside of Manhattan. I ended up staying in Times Square in the W Hotel so that I could work at one of my company's restaurants because a lot of employees from other parts of Queens and Brooklyn could not get into New York City due to the flooding that occurred downtown. It was really bad. Times Square was EMPTY, which never happens. But people that were staying in the hotel where I was working and in the surrounding areas had to eat, and being that the restaurant I was working in is in a hotel, they were the only one that was open. The South shore of Brooklyn and Queens got hit really hard as well. Boardwalks are all destroyed. Long Island, NY where I am originally from has many parts in total devastation. My friend's family's home burnt down after they were evacuated. They are now left with nothing. Jones Beach Theater, where Celine has performed is under water. Fire Island which is a big Summer vacation destination spot as well as a place for minimal residence is in total disarray. Seeing my hometown in such devastation is so heartbreaking. I'm praying for a full recovery.

This is Ocean Parkway which spans along Long Island's South Shore beaches, Before and After.
