Basically "Absolument Star" is a call-TV show : you know, these shows where they ask you to phone to answer a silly question like "What is Celine Dion's name ?" Hence the absence of them showing "Incognito"---her real transformation. And this BILLY video!??! I've never seen it before!!!! Overall, this is poorly researched. They showed the "...Any Other Way" video and the text said it was "The Last to Know." It's one of the first times in a documentary that she is recognized as a gay icon. I've only watched the beginning, but it seems like they're touching on unusual topics -- So interesting to hear Celine talk about the time she refused the Felix for Best Anglophone Artist. She said she didn't understand the word games back then, but Rene did .. that singing in English doesn't make her Anglophone, just as singing in Japanese wouldn't make her become Japanese. I didn't understand everything she was saying, but it sounded as though she was saying that she was very young at the time, and didn't quite understand why she was refusing the award, b/c, after all, she wanted to sing in English and recorded an English album, but that Rene did understand why it was important for to make a statement about not being "Anglophone", and explained it to her (and the implication being that she understands now). I think most people knew that her speech refusing the award was basically written by Rene, but it's so interesting to hear her practically admit that, more than 20 years later. 1 Quote
