chocolatechip15 Posted August 31, 2012 at 01:52 AM Posted August 31, 2012 at 01:52 AM Quick question -- I heard from someone who went to A New Day several years ago that you weren't allowed to take cell phones into the theater -- you had to "check" it, like a coat. Do people who've gone recently know if that's still true? I know you can't bring cameras/video recorders, but do they let you bring a normal cell phone (not an iphone, but one with an ordinary cell-phone camera?). Thanks! Quote
Angel2006 Posted August 31, 2012 at 03:43 AM Posted August 31, 2012 at 03:43 AM I brought my regulare cell phone that has a camera on it and i was fine. They do check your bag when you enter the theatre, but they don't really check your bag, they just take it for a second and give it back to you. The only problem i had was they took my chips away. They don't let you bring food. The guy that checked my bag saw my cell phone and didn't say a word. As long as you kinda hide it in your bag you should be ok, but even if they see your cell phone they probably won't take it away. They are actually really cool about it. They do tell you when you enter not to take pics our use any devices, but they just say that cuz it's part of there job. So many people were taking there Iphones out before and during the show and the security said nothing. I think everyone in the room was breaking the rules, so i think you will be ok. Quote
Edwin Posted August 31, 2012 at 12:16 PM Posted August 31, 2012 at 12:16 PM They are more relaxed on the camera policy now than back in the AND era. You'll be fine with your cell phone. I've taken my camera in many times and had it in my hand and they didn't care I had it. They are more concerned with weapons and food/beverage being brought in than with cameras or other recording devices. However, if you take out your phone/camera during the show then you may be stopped by an usher. Quote
andreaB Posted August 31, 2012 at 02:43 PM Posted August 31, 2012 at 02:43 PM When I went in July most people had cell phones and were taking pictures before the show. There was a few people trying to take pictures during the show but the ushers quickly ran to them and told them to stop! violet Posted August 31, 2012 at 04:31 PM Posted August 31, 2012 at 04:31 PM I was there in June 2011 and everyone was taking photos on their phone. I didn't bring mine but will the next time I go. So long as you are discreet and the ushers don't see you you'll get away with it. I think they just don't want camera flashes going off in front of her. Quote
