I think, if she had time (and she's in Vegas in the winter so it would be tough). Although it's short jaunt from LA isnt it? Very quick plane trip. this would be a huge career booster for her. She may even have another top ten single with it! I'd only do it for one or two seasons though.

That is not a bad idea at all, IMO, Celine at her stature is very much derserving in such position, though i guess she's not really comfortable "judging" other people's talent. And i agree, it could be a great booster in her career, though hers is really blooming still.

 

If ever she'll be. I will definitely watch the full season weekly!

 

Just a thought, what if she and mariah together as judges???

American Idol? really? Not that she would be bad.. but she's too big for that. I hate the show with a passion and find it funny how all the initial judges have left/trying to leave. Now they're just trying to fill it with any celebrity they can.

 

(On an unrelated note: I find it hysterical how they're having Britney Spears, the auto-tune queen, be a judge on X Factor... )

Celine's too big for that show, but that it is an interesting thought. Honestly though, I don't think the public would go for it--despite her being the most popular artist in the world (actual fact)-- just because of the knee jerk reaction so many have to her who say her ballads and her personality make them want to throw up. Her personality might not be as "Hollywood" or "mainstream TV" type, but although she might not have the "heart" to critique others, she certainly has the knowledge (or at least more than Paula, JLO, or Dioguardi had).

 

She should reject any offer if it would harm her ability to perform. She actually still has a career and a growing family that she loves to take care of.

As much as I would love to see more Celine on tv, I don't know if this is the best role , although I think she would make a brilliant judge , she has the talent , knowledge and a great personality. I think it's just the show that I don't like and it might do her career more harm than good, and between that and her Vegas show , it would take her away from the family more and I just don't think that's something she would go for right now as the twins are still quite young!?

It's still nice to hear she is being considered tho:-)

Well I think it WOULD boost her career and profile in the US.

Look what it did for JLO. She's had a few hits since she joined AI. Before that, her songs and movies didn't do well at all.

And now, she's surfing on American Idol's "success". It sure wouldn't hurt Celine's career either.

Affffffff no! Celine has many great things to do besides it! She has 2 albuns to release, many tv shows to do and her Vegas show! Besides that, AI is for someone who doenst have anything to do in her/his carreer!

 

I think she wont accept this invitation because of her schedule.

Yes I totally agree celine week and her as a mentor would be perfect , it would get her music out there and it would be great promotion for the 2 new albums!

No. Céline is too big as many people here wrote, she is too big star to do something like that, so please no, even if she could have new hit because of this, no and I don´t think she would like to do it, she has so many thnigs to do, Vegas contract, 2 newe albums, promotour for albums and her family as she always talking it´s her priority nb.1 so I don´t see any sense do something like this and also I think she is not that type of person to be jury.

I think Celine and her team would only consider it if it was a really big paycheck, which given the ratings last season I don't think they would be able to afford her. Celine might not be as mainstream popular right now but honestly if she wanted more money she could just do a little tour in Europe or other places she hasn't visit like Latin America and made even more money....so I don't it's happening. Mariah on the other hand might be more willing...

Couldn't agree more. It's getting scary. I hope this doesn't come true... They played "TTWII" on the radio here today, and the DJ said during the intro to the song, "Well, here's a lady whose name has been floating around to be the next judge on Idol, here's Celine with, TTWII"... I pray this doesn't happen. I hope Rene knows it's no honor in any way accepting an invite like this. The show is a downhill snooze-fest with mediocre talent at best.
