So excited for all of the upcoming promotion. I hope Celine goes into all of it well rested, ready to go, and excited! Most importantly, ready to sing LIVE! But it's got me to thinking…

Why doesn't she ever discuss her French career during English interviews? This could be true for her French interviews too (not discussing English career) -- but I don't understand those interviews.

I know we're lucky to get any sort of information/inside scoop regarding ANY of her music career whatsoever -- but I find it interesting/frustrating that she just goes along talking about family -- and virtually ignores this inherent part of herself/her career.

She likes to keep things simple during interviews. Not digging too deep. I think that's how she's always been. Just focus on the here and now, this moment…and not talk about all of the accomplishments/intricacies/details of her career. Otherwise she'd get overwhelmed like the majority of us would if we were in her position! So perhaps that aspect of her persona is what has helped to keep her sanity all these years. But I do wish she'd talk about the grand scope of her career more often. She's international. And I wish all of those stay-at-home-moms watching "The View" during her inevitable impending interview understood how widespread Celine's voice really reaches.

It's good that you started this topic. All you said is true. I've been wondering about the same things.

It's because most Americans don't care about other languages. Most Americans could not care less that she sings in French. Can't be bothered - will never buy a French CD of hers. (I'm not talking about us rabid fans here - I'm talking about the non-rabid fans who just like to hear her sing that song from Titanic) So, from a marketing standpoint, I'm sure her team/Rene tell the interviewers during the "pre-Interview" that gets done before they actually interview Celine, that her French music is not a concern. I don't know if you guys know how interviews work - a member of Celine's team will speak on the phone (or, sometimes, in person) to the interviewer (or the interviewer's pre-interview person) and will tell the interviewer exactly what questions to ask - what topics Celine wants to discuss on air. That way there are no surprises. This is why it's always about her family, the kids, etc. That's what she wants to talk about. Celine draws viewers to television shows. I'm sure there is not an interviewer around who would dare discuss something that isn't an "approved question" because her team would never let her go on that show again!

I am not all that positive about the promotion here. Yes I AM happy to see her on shows and all that. But we all know how it's gonna be. History repeats itself all the time with the Céline team.

I really really would appreciate (and it would be natural to expect for her to do so) if she would present her new work only (if needed sneak in one old hit it should only be if she does MANY songs - more than 3 - on one show) and talk about her new material and her singing career.

But we all know how it's gonna be: the new material will be a minor part of what she sings, it will all be dominated by the old hits. The talk will be about Vegas, and of course her family. Which is basically the same things we hear all the time. She only promotes her old hits,

the Vegas show and her family life.

EDIT: And dare call me negative if you want. But no one can deny this is the way it goes.
