fabtasticfoo Posted May 5, 2012 at 04:41 AM Posted May 5, 2012 at 04:41 AM Nick Adams, from Priscilla Queen of the Desert, tweeted this earlier tonight: Another great crowd & we got someone special in the house tonight..... #poweroflove Was he talking about Celine? Anyone know if she's in New York? If so, there will no doubt be a meet and greet with video popping up on the show's YouTube channel. Fingers crossed! Quote
Kyle_Jared Posted May 5, 2012 at 03:52 PM Posted May 5, 2012 at 03:52 PM If she's recording she VERY well could be in NYC! Quote
Angel2006 Posted May 5, 2012 at 09:14 PM Posted May 5, 2012 at 09:14 PM OMG! I really hope he was tweeting about Celine!! If Celine is in NYC, we should be getting pics soon. We always gets pics of Celine when she goes to NYC!! I really, really hope that it was Celine. I want to see her soooooo bad. Doesn't it feel like we havn't seen her since the Chinese New year celebration video? I know we have, but it feels like so much longer. Quote

No1IrishFan Posted May 6, 2012 at 09:18 AM Posted May 6, 2012 at 09:18 AM He probably meant Jennifer Rush? I thought that too! If it was Celine he would have been more likely to hashtag #myheartwillgoon seeing as its the song she's best known for. Quote
idroveallnight Posted May 7, 2012 at 05:24 AM Posted May 7, 2012 at 05:24 AM No offense, but I don't really see Celine as the type of person that enjoys Broadway, especially a racy show like this. She's much more family-oriented these days. Would be nice if she was really in NYC though. Quote

celine4evauk Posted May 7, 2012 at 04:59 PM Posted May 7, 2012 at 04:59 PM And Priscilla's a great show - if you love pop songs, and having a laugh you'll love the show. Hope she did see it if she's in NYC. I saw it in the west end a couple of years ago. Brilliant. Quote

The staging of Seduces Me in A New Day... was as racy as anything in Priscilla. And Priscilla is very much a show about family. Back to the topic at hand, it turns out it wasn't Celine. Or Jennifer Rush. It was another singer of The Power of Love: Huey Lewis. Sorry to get people's hopes up. Quote

I happen to be a drag queen (My drag name is Saline Dijon haha) and I can perform for any occasion. Celine LOVES Broadway. and how is this show so racy? you should probably know now that Celine supports LGBTQ rights, loves drag queens (especially the ones who do imitations of her), etc. Didn't say it was so racy. I said it was racy. Definition of racy:Risqué; ribald.Vigorous; lively.http://www.thefreedictionary.com/racy Did I say anything whatsoever regarding LGBTQ or drag queens? What are you insinuating? And to say that a show about drag queens would be inappropriate for family time, is very ignorant in my opinion. I happen to be a drag queen (My drag name is Saline Dijon haha) and I can perform for any occasion. Did I even mention the word 'inappropriate' in my post? Let's see, compared to The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, Mary Poppins, yea, I'm sticking with my opinion and the dictionary definition of racy and saying this is a racy show. That doesn't make me ignorant. In all honesty, never heard Celine mention Broadway once other than her cameo on The Nanny. Forgive me for my lack of knowledge. I apologize if anyone misconstrued my post. Quote
Your_Su_Phu Posted May 10, 2012 at 06:06 AM Posted May 10, 2012 at 06:06 AM (edited) LMAO. I just assumed you had an issue with the LGTBQ related aspect of the storyline since to me there's nothing quite so shocking about the show. Celine has done far more risque things in her career, including wear a transparent black lace dress to the Grammys (and flashing her thong in the process), star in a miniseries De Fleur Sur La Neige including a nude scene (we see a shot of her nipple..) where she plays a girl whose stepfather abuses her and tries to rape her, etc. Not to mention this monstrosity http://www.celineirc.com/free/images/incognito198702.jpg Edited May 10, 2012 at 06:07 AM by Your_Su_Phu Quote
chocolatechip15 Posted May 11, 2012 at 12:54 AM Posted May 11, 2012 at 12:54 AM Ummm...Celine has said many times throughout her career that she would haved loved to do Broadway... Actually, I've always gotten the impression that Celine wasn't too interested in doing Broadway. I've never seen her bring it up herself (the way she's always bringing up how she wants to do movies), and when she's asked about whether she'd ever want to do Broadway, the impression I get is that she's trying to be polite/diplomatic, saying something like, "you never know," or "that would be great," but she never seems that enthusiastic about it. I have no idea how Celine feels about watching Broadway shows -- but remember the hysterical Rosie episode where Rosie tells her that she (Rosie), Celine, and Rene should go that very night to see Lion King on Broadway? Rosie and Celine were too funny. Anyway, though I doubt it will ever happen, i would LOVE to see Celine on Broadway. I can see her being completely amazing in a show like Les Mis as an Eponine (though maybe she's too old for it now) or Fantine. The emotion she'd bring, and the amazing songs. . that would be incredible. Has she ever sung any songs from Les Mis? I think they'd be so perfect for her: I Dreamed a Dream. . or On My Own Quote

People will generally go to some unexpected lengths in order to get famous. Do you think she would dress in that outfit today? Funny how you refer to Celine in that photo as a monstrosity and yet when I stated I could never picture Celine going to such a show with her family you assumed I had an issue with LGTBQ.
