I started a new topic for this to avoid cluttering up other threads but thought I'd post here as well. Wal-Mart will stop playing Celine & Justin Bieber in stores to help boost employee morale. I get she's not everyone's cup of tea, but c'mon.....does this really need to be a news headline?

According to various Celine fan sides on Faceook, Celine is CURRENTLY recording two new albums (French and English) in Boston that are supposed to be released next year. A separate topic has been created to be able to discuss this. Waiting for approval by the moderators.

After a year-long break that Céline Dion devoted to her family, she shall return to the stage of the Colosseum in Las Vegas next Thursday. She even prepares a new French album, we understand from her manager Aldo Giampaolo, who comments for the first time after this difficult year.

A BREATH OF FRESH AIR

When Aldo Giampaolo accepted the offer to start working with Céline Dion and René Angélil, in the summer of 2014. It was to support his friend René, who had surgery for his throat cancer the winter before. Giampoalo didn't know yet that the singer would cancel her tour of Asia and all her planned concerts in Las Vegas because her husband's cancer had returned.

"I arrived on my post on August 1st and two weeks later, Céline stopped everything. René had problems with his health again. The moment I came on board, I knew that that was the reason, that's why they approached me. But at that moment, I didn't know (that she would cancel everything)." Confided Aldo Giampaolo to me in a long phone call last week.

The decision to leave Québecor, where as the CEO of the Sports Group and Entertainment he supervised the building of the Vidéotron Centre, took him 48 hours to take. "It was like, bang, bang, bang! I completed my relocation to Las Vegas in two weeks and half still has to come over in a truck."

Giampaolo hadn't foreseen that last december he would need surgery on his back. He was in a lot of pain. "I couldn't walk anymore. It wasn't very rosy, our business: Céline who stopped everything, René and his illness and then I was handicapped. We had a very difficult start."

Having surgery twice, for throat cancer, in 1999 en 2013. René underwent a series of treatments in Las Vegas and then in Boston for seven weeks this summer.

Her husband is still ill, but why then does she resume her shows in Las Vegas?

Giampaolo denies that Caesars Palace put pressure on Céline to return to the theater that they constructed for her. "René wanted her to return, it's her job, it's her passion."

"For René. He asked her to return to the stage instead of just staying at his side. He found it necessary she returned for him."

René had his say in the changes to the show that was created in March 2011. It is renewed and revamped for her second life.

"René has participated in all the creative decisions as he always did before." Giampaolo says. "The show is revamped, but it's Céline and René's show above all."

Céline will resume the shows she cancelled last year this Thursday, to honor the contract she signed with Caesars Palace. The contract runs until the end of 2019.

"The first three shows are already sold out, there are not many tickets left, people are looking for them." According to Giampaolo.

IMPORTANT CHANGES

This unvoluntary pause of one year, permitted the new CEO Aldo Giampaolo to proceed with changes in the close team that surrounded Céline and to rough it up.

In March he announced that the contracts of four musicians, among them Claude "Mégo" Lemay, her musical director for 28 years, wouldn't be renewed. A fifth, bass player Marc Langis, left to start teaching at the Gatineau Conservatory.

"It wasn't just the musicians we had to let go. I also closed the office in Toronto and I made adjustments worldwide. I didn't do it for fun, but to give the entire organization a fresh breath of air. Even Céline. In the world of hockey they proceed to make important changes, not because the players don't play well but because you need to change the environment.

Giampaolo pauses and then resumes: "We are all trying to please in our work and in our lives, even I, after 17 years at the Canadiens, it's sure that I tried to please in my last years there. I am only human. But people in my position have to face certain challenges to make sure it doesn't go down the drain. I'm not saying that Mégo wasn't passionate, but changing is exciting."

"When I left the Bell Centre to go to Cirque Du Soleil and on to Sports and Entertainment at Québecor, I had to go through walls. That passion at the beginning is important for an organization.

A LOVE AFFAIR

Even when he consults René Angélil and Céline Dion all the time, Aldo Giampaolo takes full responsibility for his decisions.

"They, and I am just as precise as those two, have given me the carte blanche. That was clear from the start. I wouldn't have gone if my hands were tied. Of course I talk to René and Céline but if they oppose my decisions every time, we aren't going anywhere."

One of the key persons in the changes is Richard Laramée, who has been René and Céline's business advocate for many years. Aldo Giampaolo named him interim Financial Director of Feeling Productions. And the technicians that are essential to the good performance of the Ferrari that is Céline Dion, Yves Aucoin production designer, Denis Savage and Scott Price, musical director.

Aldo Giampaolo is passionate about this new adventure. Things go well for te 65-year-old who moved to Las Vegas with his wife Marianik Giffard (who gave up her post of vice-president at J Productions) and their two young children.

"I wouldn't have done it for anybody else because the relationship I have with René and Céline is a love affair."

"When René first asked me, about five years ago, the possibility to work with them was so flattering but above all was I very happy he loved me that much. It wasn't my plan to become the manager of an artist but I could see they needed me and that I could make my contribution to this team."

A NEW FRENCH ALBUM

We learned this week that Céline Dion recorded a duet with Fred Pellerin for the film "La Guerre Des Tuques 3D". Giampaolo tells us that the singer is even preparing a new album in French.

Giampaolo has other projects for his artist. He wants to exploit her 'lifestyle' side. He gives Kim Kardashian, Jessica Simpson, Paris Hilton and even Ellen DeGeneres, who associated with Tory Burch last year, as an example.

"Céline has great taste, she is a soccer mom. She has great feeling for style and fashion, for women and kids, but especially for high-end fashion. At all her parties she designs everything inside and outside the house. Céline has made millions of pictures."

Giampaolo prepared a huge file full of ideas he wants to propose to René and Céline. I started and they didn't make me stop, on the contrary they gave me the green light to continue.

AFTER RENÉ ANGÉLIL

Giampaolo doesn't want to talk about after René Angélil. "Today we work together, René and I, and just to hear about it makes me ill inside." He answers.

But with her shows and other projects Céline Dion doesn't give the impression she is going to bow out.

"No" nods Aldo. "Like she said in an interview at Good Morning America that is not what's she's going to do. She wants to combine performing and being there for her family. They are going to stay in Las Vegas (their houses in Florida and on Ile Gagnon are still for sale) and because she can be like any family mom who goes to work for eight hours and the returns home. She will spent her days off with her children."

Will Angélil join him for his wife's return on Thursday?

"I have always hope. But during his treatments he has good and bad days. We shall see when the day comes.
