"I Surrender" and David Foster

I'm trying to solve a mystery about the song "I Surrender." Celine refers to David Foster as the producer of this song when she introduces him in the David Foster & Friends concert; I'm also pretty sure I read a Billboard article from 2002 which mentioned David as the producer of that song. But on my "A New Day Has Come" CD (bought in the US in 2002), the producer is listed as Simon Franglen. Is there a second version of the song out there?

I think you messed up with "Because you loved me". This is the track in "David & Friends"

I know she sings Because You Loved Me in that show, but before she sings it, she introduces David by listing a long list of the songs he's produced or written for her, and she ends with "I Surrender." David even quotes the whole speech in his memoir (link below), without commenting on that. I thought Celine had just made a mistake until I saw a Billboard article that said the same thing. I can't find the Billboard article now, but this website, for instance, lists David as the producer of the song as well: http://www.celinedionweb.com/celine-dion/e...y-has-come.html

you re right! the Billboard article decribed the volcanic arrangement of David Foster.... but the cd writes Simon Franglen.....

I have three different versions of that cd and on the tri-fold cd it says Louis Biancaniello, Sam Watters are the writers!

I'm resurrecting this thread I started months ago, because I have been so curious forever about the mystery of whether David Foster produced I Surrender . .and now it's come up again because "I Surrender" is on the new CD "The Best of Celine Dion and David Foster" . . Are there two versions of this song?? The liner notes of A New Day don't mention David anywhere . .would love to hear a version produced by him . . though the song does sound like a David Foster one already . . .
