Larry King is gone. The Oprah Winfrey talk show is gone (even though Celine could potentially be part of Oprah's new show on OWN). So many of the new reporters on the morning shows, etc. are of a younger generation. Jay Leno's audience is not what it used to be after the whole Conan debacle. So it got me to thinking about how Celine will fair when promoting her new album. I just re-watched Celine's great interview with Rachael Ray from 2011. And it was such a relaxed environment, Celine was both fun and well-spoken. But what particularly impressed me, and continues to impress me, is Celine's ability to connect with people. She can really adapt to change. It used to be, she could just make one appearance on Oprah and her album would enter the top ten. But now she is going to really have to rely on her ability to sell herself again in today's media market. Luckily, there are new shows like Anderson Cooper's daytime show -- and there is still The View, etc. But what other solid media connections does Celine have? And where is there potential to build new relationships, like the one with Rachael Ray? Quote

Look at Madonna, she barley promoted her Hard Candy album yet it debuted at the #1 spot on the billboard 200 (although it quickly vanished out of the charts and didn't even mange to sell 750,000 copies) Quote

Maybe Ellen will try and scare her, or maybe she will do the hidden camera thing. Ellen plays this game. She makes you where an ear piece and gets you to leave the Ellen Studios and go to a store, or somewhere public and then she gets you to do funny things by telling you what to say. It's really funny. I like the Ellen show alot more then any of the other talk shows out there right now. It's so up lifting and positve. Quote

Your_Su_Phu Posted March 30, 2012 at 08:47 PM Posted March 30, 2012 at 08:47 PM (edited) ^^ The rumor is (from many sources now) that Celine's releasing an album later this year featuring a studio versions of the Vegas covers she's singing now (with some new songs including by Adele's songwriters), and then next year we'll get an all-new pop album from her. It was so rude how Ellen addressed it ,i really like Ellen, but when she told Celine that she should be cutting RC's hair, It was bad form and made for very uncomfortable viewing..... I would love to see Craig Furgoson interview her.
