For example 4 girls sing and then 4 guys sing. The judges pick 1 girl and 1 guy and the public also chooses one of each. They move on to the finals. In the finals 3 girls sing and 3 guys sing. Again the judges pick 1 girl and 1 guy. Same for the public. Those who went through the finals in november went straight to the Sunday night gala show. So this brings us to the Sunday night gala. Tonight is the first Gala and they are taking the 20 finalists and only 14 of them will make it to the Academie. So 7 girls and 7 guys. The judges are going to pick 6 of each and then the remaining contestants are going to sing for their lives and the public will pick 1 of each and they will continue on. The remaining contestants will be eleminated.
