No1IrishFan Posted January 15, 2012 at 04:44 PM Posted January 15, 2012 at 04:44 PM Looking on TM, there seems to be quite a few tickets left for the next couple of shows. Isnt it normally sold out? Can someone tell me, does the show always sell out in the hours before, or has the economy finally caught up with Celine? Quote
schaafi Posted January 15, 2012 at 05:30 PM Posted January 15, 2012 at 05:30 PM not sure if it's sold out every time, but the last shows I saw were pretty packed altough there was no standby line and tickets were sold until right before the show! exfactor003 Posted January 16, 2012 at 06:09 AM Posted January 16, 2012 at 06:09 AM every show from March 15th to January 8th was sold out. however, I was watching Ticketmaster like a hawk last week, and @ noon on January tenth, there were still 722 unsold tickets for that night's show. I think there's a possibility that those could've sold in the hours beforehand, but I guess we'll have to wait until Wednesday to see (that's usually when Billboard releases their box office scores). these are the official box office scores for the show so far, in case any of you haven't seen them: Celine DionThe Colosseum at Caesars PalaceLas Vegas, Nev.March 15-16, 19-20, 22-23, 25-26, 2011$5,551,92533,367 / 33,367 (100%)8 / 8$250, $175, $140, $55Concerts West/AEG Live Celine DionThe Colosseum at Caesars PalaceLas Vegas, Nev.April 1-3, 6-7, 9-10, 12-13, 15-17, 2011$8,531,41550,842 / 50,842 (100%)12 / 12$250, $175, $140, $55Concerts West/AEG Live Celine DionThe Colosseum at Caesars PalaceLas Vegas, Nev.June 7-8, 11-12, 2011$2,855,62016,964 / 16,964 (100%)4 / 4$250, $175, $140, $55Concerts West/AEG Live Celine DionThe Colosseum at Caesars PalaceLas Vegas, Nev.June 14-15, 18-19, 21-22, 25-26, 2011$5,689,89033,875 / 33,875 (100%)8 / 8$250, $175, $140, $55Concerts West/AEG Live Celine DionThe Colosseum at Caesars PalaceLas Vegas, Nev.June 28-29, July 1-3, 2011$3,474,20521,216 / 21,216 (100%)5 / 5$250, $175, $140, $55Concerts West/AEG Live Celine DionThe Colosseum at Caesars PalaceLas Vegas, Nev.July 19-24, 2011$2,841,79516,939 / 16,939 (100%)4 / 4$250, $175, $140, $55Concerts West/AEG Live Celine DionThe Colosseum at Caesars PalaceLas Vegas, Nev.July 26-27, 30-31, 2011$2,756,99516,632 / 16,632 (100%)4 / 4$250, $175, $140, $55Concerts West/AEG Live Celine DionThe Colosseum at Caesars PalaceLas Vegas, Nev.Aug. 2-3, 6-7, 2011$2,754,96016,989 / 16,989 (100%)4 / 4$250, $175, $140, $55Concerts West/AEG Live Celine DionThe Colosseum at Caesars PalaceLas Vegas, Nev.Aug. 9-10, 12-14, 2011$3,551,49021,170 / 21,170 (100%)5 / 5$250, $175, $140, $55Concerts West/AEG Live Celine DionThe Colosseum at Caesars PalaceLas Vegas, Nev.Dec. 28, 30-31, 2011$2,127,48012,768 / 12,768 (100%)3 / 3$250, $175, $140, $55Concerts West/AEG Live/Caesars Entertainment Celine DionThe Colosseum at Caesars PalaceLas Vegas, Nev.Jan. 3-4, 7-8, 2012$2,732,78017,007 / 17,007 (100%)4 / 4$250, $175, $140, $55Concerts West/AEG Live/Caesars Entertainment Quote
kerche Posted January 16, 2012 at 06:34 AM Posted January 16, 2012 at 06:34 AM The New Year's Eve show was oddly the worse, in terms of having 7 front row seats completely empty!! (4 empty in FOrch 4, 3 empty in FOrch 5), but I can safely say that itseems like the shows still practically "sell out" Quote - Kerry -
Your_Su_Phu Posted January 16, 2012 at 08:01 AM Posted January 16, 2012 at 08:01 AM celine regularly shows up on those top grossing concert lists so I don't think we have to worry Quote
cwnice Posted January 16, 2012 at 11:04 AM Posted January 16, 2012 at 11:04 AM i believe if it isnt sold out, some tickets would be used by gamblers who play alot of money, like in Macau. Quote If there was Diva Live, I would suggest Celine Dion + Shania Twain + Faith Hill + Barbra Streisand + Delta Goodrem
couldawouldashoulda Posted January 16, 2012 at 05:18 PM Posted January 16, 2012 at 05:18 PM I have worked in many theater box offices throughout my life to help support my acting career. I currently work in one to get some extra money while I'm in graduate school. We are often told to say that the show is "sold out". However, that does not mean that there aren't seats available. It just means that there are no seats available to sell to the public. I constantly have to turn audience members away on the phone, telling them that the performance they want to see is "sold out" even though there are still 50 or so tickets left to sell because those seats are being held for producers, actors, marketing staff, industry people, etc. Then, suddenly 2 days before the "sold out" show, any seats remaining that haven't been given out are released to the public and the night of the performance this "sold out" show has 2 rows empty. It's one of those crazy things about business that I will never understand. I'm sure Celine's show is the same way. Even though they say the shows are "sold out", there are still empty seats every night. When I saw the show on April 12th, there were probably 20 or 30 seats in rows 4-8 in the center section that went empty. Although my seats were perfectly acceptable (back row of the front of the orchestra), I was still so mad that I couldn't move up front - even when I asked the box office to do so. Quote
kerche Posted January 18, 2012 at 12:19 PM Posted January 18, 2012 at 12:19 PM Awww I see. Thanks for the info! We'll never understand and it SUCKS! Especially when the true fans want to be up close so badly Quote - Kerry -
CelineAndRene Posted January 18, 2012 at 08:38 PM Posted January 18, 2012 at 08:38 PM (edited) You'd be surprised how many people decide to go to the show the NIGHT OF THE SHOW. Not even fans per say, but just Vegas spectators and people looking to see shows. Which is perfect to convert more fans. neilpharmd Posted January 30, 2012 at 02:44 AM Posted January 30, 2012 at 02:44 AM Speaking about tickets, does anyone here know when the next block of tix will be on sale to celinedion.com members before they go on sale to the general public? Or when is the next scheduled announcement for the rest of Celine's shows for the remainder of 2012? Quote
