AMA's 2011 Remember Celine

Because she looks more like a "has been" today than an "is"

 

I know it's hart to accept this today, but the only way she's participating in current Music/Movie awards and galas is presenting awards, doing hommages or appearing in pre-recorded videos. She has moved to another position in the industry unfortunately

This was only a tribute to several female singers who had performed at the AMA over the years.

 

It has nothing to do with Celine's position in the music industry. LOL!

I mean it's a passive attitude towards the music industry. She attends more those events as spectator in the audience than a participant that is nominated to any award because of a recent album or single. They call her to give hommages and tributes to deceased people either in Grammys or now in Oscars, and when they show her image its either a prerecorded video because she's in Vegas or a video from past performances, which only serves to empashize that they see her as a past legend and not a singer who is still active in the business

Mmmm... I don't like those video presentations and I'd rather her to be performing live too, but if Justin Bieber or Rhianna, or Lady Gaga, or Eminem are nominated to Grammy's or whatever awards, I don't want Celine to be nominated with them That'd be like if them were in the same league than her, and they're not Just my two cents

I know AMA's and Grammys have lost prestige lately and many times the music they award and promote leave a lot to be desired, but I mean, when was the last time Céline won one of these, not to mention she isn't nominated for her latest albums since ages? Neither she looks to fight for any award to defend her music, she looks just SO uninterested about the music in which she *supposedly* IS still. She just seems to have switched off with everything about that and that's sad -at least for me-

Mmm... I don't know If (BIG IF) If I were a professional singer on the scale of Celine or Andrea Bocelli for example (I don't think he has been awarded as much as he deserves either), I would not worry much for the awards anymore I'd be glad if they invite me, but if they don't, I wouldn't care I think awards have always been depending on the popularity of the performers in the case of Pop Music... If you see in the others categories like Soul Music or R&B you'll notice there's a difference

 

Now, if you see carefully, they still call her to be performing there (be it live or recorded) because of her voice and singing quality !! And that's more important for me than an award I'd love her to win more awards cause I think she deserves them, even thou I don't agree with many of their choises (I love the albums AND and TC and the up-tempo songs, but if you search deep inside of you, you'll agree than TCOML, FIY or LTAL are much better albums with more quality music in them)

I don't watch award shows because I can't stand most of the current "singers" of today.

AMAS is Nov 24 this year she has a concert in Paris this year on the 25 I doubt she will be there this year.
