ivo Posted November 9, 2011 at 07:51 PM Posted November 9, 2011 at 07:51 PM I don't like her at all. She can sing, but most of the time she screams and thinking she is all that... Ray Posted November 10, 2011 at 06:42 PM Author Posted November 10, 2011 at 06:42 PM I've met her and she's really nice IRL. Most of her English work are cover songs. If she was American she would get the recognition she deserves. But in Holland... Still, she turns some songs in something very special as she has a better voice than most of the singers who sang the original. Yentl Anchel Posted November 10, 2011 at 08:28 PM Posted November 10, 2011 at 08:28 PM I think she has the talent, but if no one wants to write GOOD songs for her she will always need to do some covers. I've seen her at the Sunday night sessions and she was great! But Davey did you ever listened to her Dutch songs! And you say she screams and not sings... well her version of It's A Mans World is 10 times better than Céline's ! (It's A Mans world) (Als je slaapt) (This one is cool, she wins a song contest as she sings a song from Whitney) Quote Elle est mon idéal, La plus grande étoileWill be going to Celine march 2 and 5 2016 and June 20 and 21 2016

But she is a very good singer and she deserved worldfame! And she also is very kind towards her fans. Hope her next album will be a good one, not only with covers, but new perfect songs! Ray Posted November 13, 2011 at 10:53 AM Author Posted November 13, 2011 at 10:53 AM The problem is: the Dutch radio DJ's don't appreciate our own talents: Glennis Grace, Edsilia Rombley... We have some truely great vocalists, but they don't get any airplay. How come Leona Lewis gets to #1 in the UK for weeks with 'A Moment Like This', while Glennis' rendition didn't do much in the Dutch charts?Nobody knew it was released, that's why. "Afscheid" (Glennis' biggest hit) was not because of a planned single release and interest by DJ's.It was because of a tv-appearance. browseceline Posted February 13, 2012 at 10:51 AM Posted February 13, 2012 at 10:51 AM Glennis owns her succes because of her rendition of One Moment in Time in the dutch soundmixshow ( impersonator contest). Here is a mindblowing performance of this song: Quote <iframe width="640" height="390" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/hl2XkxnYljg" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe>

browseceline Posted August 19, 2013 at 06:58 AM Posted August 19, 2013 at 06:58 AM So who is going to see her at the HMH this coming September? I am on that dvd of last year's concert. I stood frontrow. However i still think she is a great singer but i wished she got herself a better repertoire. I mean singing original songs written for her, not only covers. She is known for covering everything. And she does is very good. But a great voice like hers needs new songs written for her. Otherwise she will never make it internationally. She can be the next whitney, but then a lot has got to change. And not only her repertoire but more.I am not going this year but i would go if i could, for sure. For only 40 euro you get an evening with a perfect band and one amazing singer that has a powervoice that can virtually sing everything and blow you away. 1 Quote <iframe width="640" height="390" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/hl2XkxnYljg" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Ray Posted August 19, 2013 at 09:01 PM Author Posted August 19, 2013 at 09:01 PM I was hoping to get an album before the concert. I would love to see her live, but I already did once when she was promoting "Secrets Of My Soul" which is my favorite album of hers. I just know she probably won't sing any of those songs, so for me it's not the 'right' time to go and see her. garçon Posted October 17, 2013 at 01:03 PM Posted October 17, 2013 at 01:03 PM I heard sometime Celine complimented her for her ESC performance. Any one more on this? Btw: she has too little technique, for such a big voice. Eg, she lacks the talent to properly built up her performances; like she is belting it out from the start. That's why her performances, like the Bon Jovi cover, seem to 'end' suddenly. Quote
Ray Posted October 17, 2013 at 03:32 PM Author Posted October 17, 2013 at 03:32 PM A friend of mine went to Glennis's concert last night. This is what he said: "The new single is awesome and dipped into the Christmas spirit especially. It was great to be at a live recording. Sometimes she had to sing a song twice or even three times. I compliment her for delivering under such pressure. This Christmas special will be broadcast on Dutch tv on the 24th of December at RTL4 right after All You Need Is Love. The cd and dvd will be available on November 15. She mostly sang in English. She did sing a Dutch version of Grown Up Christmas List, although she also sang the English version, so what they're gonna do with it, I'm not sure. She sang together with the 3J's. She also sang a new song called New Year's Eve. It was up-tempo with lots of belting. At some songs she was joined by a gospel choir. At the end she sang So This Is Christmas with the choir. Really amazing. 1 Quote Céline Dion Mariah Carey Madonna Lara Fabian Debbie Gibson Wilson Phillips Linda Eder Tina Arena Martika
