Anyone like instrumental live versions of Celine's hits?

Hi guys - I've been listening to instrumentals for my favorite celine dion songs and some artists for 3 days straight now and as I was reflecting on each of the songs, a thought came into my mind. I was wondering, how many of celine dion fans there are who would love to have a album of instrumental live versions of songs that are being used every time celine goes live.

Just came into mind, if there are a huge demand on this, is there a way for us to have a some sort of a petition to celine's management on releasing an album such a this and some considerations that they need to consider:

* the songs will be recorded using Mego Lemay's arrangements

* no background vocals of celine's back-up singers, just pure instruments (I simply hate backing vocals hehehe)

* and it'll be released on a 2-3 CD album, with the following songs (these are songs my preferred songs):

I would love to see this. I have an even better idea - Celine's team should create a website with all studio and live instrumentals available to download (including the shortened arrangements that have been used over the years). If they charged to download these tracks, they would make a huge profit as this requires much less effort than releasing a CD set, and they can add things to it over time. :)

I agree with Tim. That would be smart for Team Celine to do. However, most of the instrumental tracks that are released - either in Celine's singles or by Karaoke-Version, are sufficient to make me happy.

I prefer the tracks with back-up vocals.

I don't think the average music buying public would have any interest in this.

"People pay 20-25 dollars to see you."

I agree with Tim, that would be fantastic if Team Celine did that. I love instrumental, and Karioke, versions of Celine's songs.

This wouldn't sell at all.....sure, it's interesting to us, but idea-wise , it would receive even less backing than usual from her team, and the public wouldn't care enough.

yes. We're all happy to see if Celine's team would like to make it.

yeah, i agree on this too, this would be fantastic however, we also need to consider those fans who has no option of purchasing the tracks online. those people who doesn't have credit card and to those people who lives in the 3rd world countries wherein having a bank account is not a necessary unlike in the 1st world countries especially the united states wherein you need to have your own bank account. so, releasing this on a CD will give an opportunity for other fans to have a copy.

you definitely got good point there tyler :sadwalk: oh well, guess now it wouldn't sell that much after all and people wouldn't care because it's not a Celine Dion album and it will only be awesome for us fans and i think for other people who are fond of listening to instrumental music especially with high quality recording and i guess for those who are into sound engineering and mixing 'coz we can't deny the fact that Mego is a genius in re-arranging the songs for live performances.

you know, if celine's team would agree on this, it would be AMAZING, totally AMAZING for those people or fans who are fond of sound tripping like me. Imagine, if they record the songs suit for even just 5.1 channel audio surround, it would sound marvelous.

with due respect to "imgoingtobiteyou", based on my opinion, backing vocals ruins the music... maybe most of us or maybe only me is/are used of listening to celine' voice that when hearing the backing vocals, it sounds awkward or sometimes out of tune which I clearly understood that it was intentionally done to enhance celine's voice in a song but without celine's voice, i find it annoying.

well, it's just my opinion and my preference. i respect everyone's opinion and preference and i know for sure that there are also a lot of people out there prefers instrumentals with backing vocals.

oh well, since this wouldn't be realizable 'coz it wouldn't sell anyway... i hope this idea would come into someone's mind who is working in celine's management and have this realize by, maybe, just making a limited copies for collectors and/or it could be a great prize for any celine contests.

and besides if this will be released, i just realized that any amount of profit won't go to celine instead it'll go to mego's team and to those who made the music for legal and copyright reason.

I would like to have a cd or dvd with those arrangements from Mego's hand

I also bought several instrumentals/karaokes from karaokeversion.com, but there are always songs that I want but aren't made (yet) :(

In fact, there are many instrumental of Celine that are on sale already ; they are either hidden in singles: for example, Je ne vous oublie pas has a 2 tracks songs 1 the regular version et 1 instrumental one. There are many examples of that but you have to search for them; You can find here many karaoke/instrumental songs:

Celine Dion Karaoke

Et Je t'aime encore Single with instrumental:

Je ne vous oublie pas instrumental:

Celine Dion D'Eux (full karaoke version)

yup, there are available instrumental versions online and those that are included on the single CDs but this is about re-recording the music or re-making the music using the arrangements of Celine's concert conductor Mego... it'll have a different music feeling and it'll give life to those songs that were not being performed on-stage anymore.

I wouldn't buy it for 2 reason:

1. Enough with the Hits!

2. I like Celine's music because of her voice, so just the instrumentals will be boring for me.

In the other hand, I will definitely buy acapella versions of her songs

This would come in handy particularly for me as I'm trying to replicate the piano parts and sound design to match the Live arrangements from the A New Day dvd. The only piano track that was left on the centre channel was My heart will go on.

Back in 2003, there was a professional (maybe even official) acapella version of IDAN that sounded awesome. The reverb on it was great.

Edit: just found it on youtube :)

On this note, I want to get a second opinion from all other like minded Celine fans as well as Musicians here on this forum. This is an attempt at the Live Electric Piano sound that's played for the A New Day Las Vegas show for My Heart will go on.

It's still not perfect. This is a life long challenge to try and replicate the exact instruments and have also seeked help from other Sound programmers too.

Heres a short video of me playing the Live arrangement. I don't read music theory and only play by ear, self taught so forgive me, I transpose the Keybed to +3 for most of the song and then -5 for the Bridge at the end and play on the C Scale. For now i'm more interested in the sound design than the playing. Will eventually teach myself how to play it properly without the need to transpose.

I'm playing on a Korg Kronos which is the next Piano model up from what was used in Celine's A New Day run.

Had trouble aligning the audio with the video as, audio was recorded directly in to my macbook from the Keyboard, and video recorded on apple phone.

I want your thoughts ! - Does it sound close enough the piano sound used in the live shows ?

First of all, very good job! ;)

I think while hearing it, it sounds very close to the original, which was used in A new day...well done :)
