The last note was bastardized for adding extra echo in the DVD version. This video makes everything clear. Enjoy! She's definitely performed this song way better on countless other occasions. This performance is nothing to write home about, IMHO. The echo wasn't added just for the ACDS DVD, it can be heard clearly on all the live LTAL concert videos and bootlegs we have. It's very obvious as Celine slowly moves the mic away from her mouth even though the note is still echoing. I always knew that these tour performances were live, as the length and sound of this ending note varied depending on how long Celine actually held it (and how much echo was applied to Celine's vocals in each show). The pronunciation in this version is not her best. But I rather have some false notes then a perfect clean lipped performance. Like the chances worldtour and her new show.. because listen to the bootlegs on every video or audiotake, it is all exactly the same, no matter which stadium, which country or what show. If the song is obligatory I rather have her not singing it or otherwise I want it to be live, just like the paris version! I don't care some flaws, nobody's perfect! She has sung almost 21 songs that evening ? Her voice was exhausted, that's why it may not be her best performance of this song but she gave her very best and I still think ACDS is her best tourdvd! I think people truly get so lost in the beauty of the WCD performance and it gets overrated because of it. no it is not about beauty, it is because of the arrangement, by choosing a piano together with the rest of the instruments, Celine sang it also a bit different that usual , because of that arrangement. that is why I like this version also very much and I like the Grammy Awards 1998 version too, although everyone prefers the oscar version, but I loved the orchestra in the Grammy Awards version and even though Celine did not reach the high notes at her best, I loved it and I loved her dress and her hair.. so beautiful to watch! The beauty of the setting & the orchestra are actually why I like it so much. The music was great, her voice was flawless, she looked stunning. For me everything was perfect that night. That doesn't mean I'm saying it's the best vocally, but it's undoubtedly one of her finest performances (along with those you mentioned). Furthermore, I think this was the last time she performed this song really well. WCD & ANDHC special proved she still had the well-trained technique (and stamina) she gained from singing this song so many times in the 90s. As odd as it may sound, I think the reason the post-2003 performances haven't been as good is purely because she has not been singing the song live on a regular basis. It's a bit like running a mile every day, then stopping completely for 5 years - so when you start doing it again, you'll find it a LOT harder. I'm sure Celine found the same thing when singing CHFIL & QONQL again in 2007 after so many years, when before she was doing it every night. Quote
