celinefanonline Posted August 19, 2011 at 02:44 PM Author Posted August 19, 2011 at 02:44 PM just saw Love Never Dies 2nite!!!oh my it's something i know there's mix review of the show and stuff, and although Phantom is still the best but is still worth going to see!! one thing is that i'm not sure if they gonna have any other oversea productions though...i heard that Andrew Lloyd Webber was gonna take Melbourne's cast to boardway but i think he decided not to...and heard that they gonna film the show on 15th sep here in Melbourne!!! and will release it on dvd!!also i can say that Melbourne cast is actually better than London's original cast!! clefurgey Posted September 9, 2011 at 11:12 AM Posted September 9, 2011 at 11:12 AM I love Phantom too.I don't really care for love never dies though. I mean yeah it has it's good moments (the original london phantom), but other than that, not so much.I've seen phantom twice though, most recently in 2007 in Toronto. It was pretty good, but Michael Crawford will always be the phantom to me. Nautanick Posted November 1, 2011 at 08:22 PM Posted November 1, 2011 at 08:22 PM Love Phantom of the Opera, but I've never seen it live in person...however I've read most of the books and watched most of the movies. From another board I visit, I downloaded one of the shows seen in theaters...I loved some things and was disappointed in others. I really want to like Ramin Karimloo as the Phantom, but in most of the songs he was too over the top...magnificent voice and he was sublime in others, but yes. Sierra Boggess was an excellent Christine and I LOVED Wendy Ferguson as Carlotta. Hadley Fraser's Raoul was different but over all I liked his take on the role. I didn't care the performers who played Andre and Firmin. The tribute to Michael Crawford (who to me is still the diamond standard of all Phantoms) was amazing. However, poor Sarah Brightman's voice is obviously going...I read somewhere that she had a throat operation not too long ago. The thing that irked me most about the 25th Anniversary concert was the stench of that...that..."lamentable mess" of a sequel that has (mercifully) closed in London but is still going on in Australia. You had three of the principle actors (Ramin, Sierra, and Liz Robertson who played Madame Giry) who also played the roles in Love Never Dies, you had a Raoul who looked as if he could become the obnoxious drunk in LND, and some reviews say that RK and SB played the roles in the anniversary with the sequel in mind. Most Phantom phans want to forget that sequel ever existed, and here ALW is still trying to push it in our face Let it go, Andy. Quote
celinefanonline Posted December 19, 2011 at 12:28 PM Author Posted December 19, 2011 at 12:28 PM (edited) the dvd / blu-ray of Phantom 25th anniversary has already released in some countries!(soundtrack too) did anyone got it?i got it last week the blu-ray and oh my it's amazing they redone the screen shots compare to the cinema one which i believe was live and it's alot better on the dvd / blu-ray! and the grand final it's really amazing too althought Sarah can't sing like she did when she's 20 something but she still can hit those notes and it just gave me goose bumps too bad that Michael Crawford didn't sing.. lol btw Love Never Dies the dvd will release in Feb!
