The Autobahn in Germany

I saw a show about the German autobahn on the History Channel some months ago. It was really interesting, didn't know it was legal to drive over 150mph on public roads. Everythinig about it sounds so amazing, from the construction to the maintenance. The guy took out the Chrysler Crossfire out for a spin on the road, it handled the speeds really well without much shaking even at over 150mph Some day, I hope to have a chance to drive there. Has anyone been on that road? Tell us your experiences.

I don't have any experience..but my dad told that it's insane to drive there....he drove this old car as fast as possible ...and there's hundred's of cars going faster...and some of them...well..they are not afraid of dying

 

I don't recommend to drive "1980 Nissan" there...

I'm pretty sure, you'll think you will fly, if you drive with 150mph over the autobahn, if you aren't used to it. But it's true, you can drive without a limit, if there are no special signs and your car is able to reach such speed. My Celine-mobile just make 112 mph (180 kmh?).

I loved driving on the autobahn-vrooommmmmm I was cruising at 100 mph in the the left land- before I could get over in the other lane, a Porshe was on my arse honking

only 100mph? That's not that fast, is the left lane the fast lane? My friend drove up to 110mph while coming back from college, it didn't feel that fast because the scenery were all the same.

It's okay.... Been on the autobahn lots of times (not me driving) and it's okay..lol Though the only + side is the 'no speed limit', the rest is just not impressive..

I thought the roads were in excellent condition. What goes behind the scenes are impressive, you have to see it

I actually love driving on the Autobahn for I like to drive fast ;-)

But my personal speed limit is 150 km/h. My Golf won't do more cause it's a 12-year-old car *lol*

But if I can get a new one (I want a Peugeot 206) I can probably drive faster *yey* But when I see there are some idiots on the street driving just the way they want I'll slow down of couse ;-)
